“I stayed here, but there was no lantern or scissors provided, and the lantern in my friend’s unit was broken too. So I asked for a replacement, but I was told there wasn’t one available and to just deal with it. I asked them to help resolve the issue, but all they said was to talk to the manager in the morning. I think that is very poor customer service.”

“Many times no one at front desk. Had to use a telephone to get someone to come to front desk - sometimes no one answered.”

“Old rundown hotel. Bed was ok, bathroom needed update, peeling wallpaper, rusty door etc. Didn't bother with the so called breakfast. Microwaved egg omelets, no thank you. Walls are thin, you can hear everything. Sounded like people above us were a herd of elephants, loud banging, thumping , voices etc. I called front desk to complain. Noise started around 11:30pm, finally quiet by 1:30 am until 8am. ”

“Amanda was lovely: very helpful and she made such delicious breakfasts every morning fresh. The house is charming. It feels like it’s in the middle of the quaintest tiny villages but Hartford is under 30 minutes away and New Haven was an easy 45 minutes. The bed was comfortable and the room was huge. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.”

“The building and grounds need maintenance. There's rotting window sills and rain damage on the ceiling, spots of bleach on the carpets and the doorknob of a closet came off in my hand. The TV in the room is incredibly small, the size of a computer screen. You don't come to a hotel to watch TV but like showers, you expect a nice experience. The breakfasts were ok, but not great.”

“Liberty Inn was clean, quiet, comfortable with pleasant staff. We’d stay again - No complaints ”

“On the second night of our stay, when the hot water was turned on, the water was a light brown color. The morning we were leaving, the hot water was fine. The sink had a horrible smell throughout our stay. The breakfast was the best part of our stay (food was hot, lots on variety, etc).”

“Lodging seekers beware and make sure you bring a UV light to check for left over body fluids as well as a flashlight for bedbugs. Do not, I say again, do not think that the main photo on Expedia is anything like was is actually in place nor do the room photos look anything like what I walked into. This place is worst than a dive, no proper check in procedures, note on the door says to call ABC person who then would contact XYZ (allowed me to check in an hour early). “I can’t say enough good things about our stay here! We came for a girls weekend and the staff was so kind and helpful, the breakfast and complimentary happy hour were great, and our room was adorable and clean! Highly recommend for any trip to the Connecticut shore!”
