Maes-Y-Coed - a self catering cottage that sleeps 8 guests in 4 bedrooms

This wonderful holiday cottage sits in a small clearing in the famous Coed Y Brenin Forest in Eryri (Snowdonia), North Wales. The original brick built cottage has been combined with an oak clad extension to provide holiday accommodation for up to 8 people. State of the art construction combined with a biomass burner and photovoltaic panels has helped owners Chris and Charlotte, create a tasteful and stylish carbon neutral property in this most natural of environments.

We enter the cottage through the new oak extension. A big open plan space that includes a comfortable sitting area, dining area and kitchen. High vaulted ceilings and large windows give the space an immediate sense of light and freshness. The kitchen is fitted with some lovely oak units and worktop as well as a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer and modern cooking range.

Family meals can be enjoyed around an oak dining table that then leads us onto the sitting area. This is where that impressive wood pellet burner is housed. The fire provides a beautiful focus point for the room whilst simultaneously heating the slate flooring beneath your toes and providing plenty of hot water for the entire house. Glass patio doors on the other side of the room open out onto a raised patio area with views out over fields and surrounding forest.

All 4 bedrooms are in the original brick part of the cottage. The main family bathroom is here as well. This bathroom has a large walk in shower, an elegant white bathroom suite and the luxury of a heated slate floor. There is also a separate wc next door if some guests are understandably hogging this bathroom.

The first of three double bedrooms has a beautiful en-suite bathroom with a shower over bath arrangement. The second bedroom doesn't have the luxury of an en-suite but is equally as spacious and enjoys the same wonderful uninterrupted views over the fields. The 3rd immaculately furnished with a modern bed and contemporary fittings. Finally we have a 4th twin bedroom. Again, pristine linen and perfect attention to detail.

Peaceful, secluded location, amongst fields with plenty of off-road walks straight from the door. Half a mile from the nearest property.

Good quality and secure bike storage for 4 cycles (or 6 at a pinch).

EV Charger (charging fees apply).

One standard travel cot available (Cot linen not provided).

No pets, sorry.
