“I really enjoyed my one night stay at Y Pengwern. The bar was friendly when we checked in, and when I was shown my room was amazed at how big it was. I was backpacking and there was plenty of room to reorganise my kit, and the bed was large and very comfortable. After a long day's walk we were looking forward to food, and were very happy with the big hearty meals we had in the restaurant. “In the first room 87 I think we had something underneath the carpet beside the bed. I did report it. I didn’t like having to take my bags through the streets to the room but could’ve easily been done by the people there. I didn’t realise that you had to go 100 yards down the road to go to the room. I would not have stayed that was three flights stairs up no lift second room number 77 same thing have to takeoff stuff out. Take it back to the Hotel and start all over again. “This was are third visit to the gladstone, Gavin and Stephen are brilliant hosts staff are excellent, food ot the hotel is excellent and not to expensive, car parking either side of the hotel. ”

“Lovely staff and excellent location. Rooms look as though they have been recently refurbished. Cold breakfast selection not as good as it used to be but good variety of cooked breakfasts on offer.
I found the restaurant very cold in the evening but fine in the morning.
Plenty of supplies in the room, tea, coffee, water, biscuits and toiletries etc.”
