Hotel vicino a Donnell Lake - Vandalia

“This hotel did not meet basic cleanliness or maintenance standards. There were food splatters on the walls, smudges on the mirrors, sticky bathroom floors, filthy trash cans, and dirty floors throughout the common areas. The property also appeared poorly maintained, with peeling wallpaper and room numbers falling off the walls and rewritten in Sharpie. The water fountain was also dirty, and there was no bottled water available at the front desk or in the vending machine. The amenities were very...

“Nothing for breakfast except coffee. Door on room did not fit well, allowing visible cracks that showed hallway. Sure seems like someone is living there as the food odors were very strong (and not good) at the same time each night. Check-in took too long, and check-out was even longer. People hanging around lobby during check-out made it very strange and the clerk said nothing so I assume they were related. I will NOT stay at this hotel again.”

“Air conditioning parking and amenities were acceptable for a 2 star property. The mattress cover on the bed was dirty on the side and I only noticed it on day 2 (looked like coffee had spilled) and the room air smelled musty (perhaps air consisting unit) overall the property was acceptable to stay at. The housekeeping staff came in to fluff the room which I was honestly surprised about- you don’t get that even at a Hilton or Marriott. The staff was polite, the area had a lot of food options...

“This hotel is exactly what you would expect from a motel 6. The door had a giant hole liked it had been kicked in. The room was dirty and had a bad odor. The doors security lock was broken and the door itself was badly damaged. We ended up driving 3 hours home to avoid sleeping in that room.”

“I stayed in LaQuinta traveling through, and then Home2 when we traveled back through...don't stay at LaQuinta, it was awful compared to Home2. Home2 is clean, the staff were super friendly, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. Also, the breakfast was great with many choices. I will only look for a Hilton brand when I travel now!”

“In 208 and on one side had couple arguing loudly after midnight then couple having sex loudly above us till 1:30am. Walls seemed thin. Breakfast was great. Room was a suite and great if needed to cook.”

“The hotel room was very nice and overall we enjoyed our stay. What I don’t appreciate is the housekeeping people waking us up on the last day. Check out is noon and we had the do not disturb sign outside the door but housekeeping knocked at 9:15 and woke us up. I told the man we are staying until checkout. Yet he came back a little after 11 and knocked again. There should be better coordination so housekeeping knows when a person has left or at the very least, honor the do not disturb sign until...
