Hotel a Downing

“When entering room the light switch did not turn on any lights. Switched bulb from another light & it was like a strobe light. Another lamp had no bulb. Could only use one lamp. There aren’t any hair dryers in the room. I’ve never stayed at a hotel that didn’t have hair dryer so I didn’t bring my own. Breakfast was ok but no yogurt. Walking into the lobby it smelled of weed and as we walked to our room it was definitely stronger.”

“My wife went to the front desk to get an additional pillow. Sign said to call for assistance. After 10 minutes no one came. We also found a cockroach and a centipede in the room. We will not be staying here again.”

“Well maintained and clean property. The staff was friendly and helpful. Nice continental breakfast available to help start the day. We would stay here again on our next visit.”

“I stay here whenever in Kirksville. It’s a good hotel and I especially like the Costa Coffee in the lobby. I think, however, the breakfast needs some help. Both times we went for breakfast - first time late, around 9:10am and the second time early, around 7:45am - the eggs had burnt bits and the oatmeal was like paste. Also, the toaster was anemic. I tried to toast an English muffin and three times pushing it down produced no color and little warmth. The butter didn’t even melt.”
