“Gorgeous little B&B run by the lovely Les. Everywhere was spotless and welcoming. Our room was spacious, comfy, very pretty and had everything we could need for our 2 night stay. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Felt like by the end of our stay that Les had become a friend and a confidante 😉 Definitely planning a return trip…”

“This accommodation about 15 to 20 minutes walk into the main town/ harbour. Taking longer if you want to avoid walking through a industrial area. However it was well lit and at no point felt unsafe. Lots of free parking. Very good sized rooms with all needed for a comfortable stay. I would have liked some more lights in the room. But didn't ask . The tea coffee and biscuits in the room excellent quality, the same for the bathroom products. That was a very welcome surprise. The meals at the...

“The room, although small was very comfortable with a feeling of space provided by the view. Dinner was very good and the breakfast options were great. Staff were very natural and friendly. Parking is provided at the back of the property in a quiet free public car park, with access to the hotel just a few steps away. I would definitely stay here again when next in the area, with no hesitation.”

“The meals were excellent both for quality and price, staff very helpful. The bed was comfortable however the windows did not close entirely. It was quite warm so not a major problem for us but the windows needed refurbishment so they be opened or closed easily. The electric shower was very weak. These issues were relatively minor given the pluses of staff, food and comfortable beds”

“A nice stay. Pros : a quirky house not devoid of charm. It was nice to learn about the house history. Cons : access direct on the A1 is a bit difficult. Room (especially bathroom) and staircase access too cramped. Confusion about the breakfast hours.”

“Only used the hotel for bed and breakfast. The room and bed were clean and comfortable. The dining room was impressive and had some history attached to it. The service was responsive at breakfast and kindness and understanding shown to a nervous 6 year old. The free public parking at the rear of the hotel worked well and the proximity to the town and castle and gardens.”

“Massively overpriced accommodation. It is clean and conveniently located, but staff only seems to be interested in running the downstairs pub/restaurant and you are pretty much on your own from the start to finish if you ever have any issues. I had a room with a balcony, but the balcony was somewhat disappointing. The television is so small that you are lucky even to notice it on the opposite wall.”
