Hotel fronte mare senza grosse pretese
Ho trascorso la notte prima di partire dal vicino aeroporto, posizione comoda e fronte mare, hotel vecchio e da rinnovare. Abbastanza deludente ma in linea con il prezzo pagato. Materasso scomodo. Colazione non inclusa

Fabulous getaway
We had a wonderful Autumnal two night getaway at The White Sands Hotel. There are four bay window rooms at the front of the hotel and we were fortunate to stay in one of them. The view of the ocean directly across the road is such a treat. I read some reviews before booking and can now give our own experience. The reception area is bright, modern and welcoming. Our room was spotlessly clean with fresh linen and towels. The bed was really comfortable. Yes the bathroom was not modern and the fixtures and fittings are worn but it was perfectly functional with lots of hot water and amazing water pressure in the shower. The staff were all pleasant, friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was delicious. The location is amazing. Hotel prices were so expensive when we were searching, this was definitely the best value for money in the greater Dublin area. We previously stayed here four years ago, we thoroughly enjoyed being back and would definitely stay again. If a luxury bath is your favourite part of a hotel break this may not be for you but for us The White Sands Hotel ticked all the boxes. It was so lovely to park the car, have the beach on our doorstep, take leisurely walks before dining and not have to drive anywhere! We gather the rooms at the rear of the hotel are more modern but we didn't see them. The hotel is on a road and from our room at the front you do hear some traffic noise. This didn't bother us. There was no hot water. We had to leave very early in the morning to the airport and wanted to take a shower to wake up. Got a cold shower and surely woke up. Staff were very friendly and helpful

The property is seriously lacking some TLC. Very dated and poor finish in general. However, the bed was comfy and everything worked. The food is good and the bar area very pleasant with TV screens for catching up on sports, etc.

Overpriced, no working wifi, some unpleasant staff, limited bar food service. Exterior is decrepit, but our room was OK. Not terrible, but would prefer not to stay here again.

Lovely seaview rooms! Right across the road from the beach, between the towns of Malahide & Portmarnock, which are both walkable, the hotel is on a bus route. Great restaurant attached. Site indicates early checkin is available for a fee, we arrived on an overnight flight and could not check in early. The baggage room was the conference room. Very dated fixtures and could use updating. Overpriced. They are rated 3 star but I'd give them 2 stars.

Väldigt tunna väggar på hotellrummet, så man hörde allt från närliggande rum. Smutsiga glas och allmänt inte det fräschaste badrummet. Trevlig personal och bra läge. WiFi fungerade inte på vårt rum och vi hade inte heller någon täckning.

This property is right on the Irish Sea and had a great view. The people were very cooperative and the restaurant was great. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone staying in Portmarnock. Donna Norton

Just okay
The hotel is in a great location and the hotel staff are helpful and friendly. However, the hotel is quite old and the bed, fitting, and fixtures are very worn. Our toilet was difficult to flush and the sink had almost no water pressure. We didn't bother trying the shower.

Brilliant staff and friendly ..annoyed to be charged £500 for two nights bed only just because Depeche mode was playing in Malahide ..usually less than half that price with breakfast included ..found that a bit naughty and to not be offered a breakfast for that amount was very very poor.

Komfortabelt rom og god service! :)
Stort fint rom, rent og pent. Savnet kjøleskap/minibar. Litt dårlige tv-signaler/dårlig tv bilder. Wifi var ok, men ble helt borte et par ganger. En liten bagatell bare; drikkeglassene på toalettet ble ikke vasket, byttet eller rørt av Housekeeping i løpet av 3 dager selvom ett glass var skittent. Ellers var seng og annet rent, oppredd og bra. ALLE ansatte var vennlige, hyggelige og hjelpsomme. :) FIN utsikt til strand og hav dersom du får utsikt den veien. Kort vei til busstopp og H2-bussen til Dublin.

The location was close to Dublin and on the beach. The hotel rooms were rundown. Missing lightbulbs, only 2 outlets for electrical devices including the tv. The exterior courtyard was filthy and the foundation empty.

Room had no chair, oversized furniture and is very tired. The entire hotel needs to be painted and updated. Didn't get one of the newer rooms even though the photo of the room was one. Instead I got an older room at the back. Great location.

Rooms had thin walls, hot and the windows can’t open, just a top sheet tucked into the bed. Staff was friendly, just not the nicest accommodations.

Old, tired and dirty
Overall the hotel is old and tired. The toilet in my room had not been cleaned at all prior to my arrival, and was absolutely filthy. When i notified the very nice receptionist she assigned another room and was very apologetic. The second room had a clean toilet and a nice sea view, but was generally below par. There were 3 lamps in the room, the bulb was blown in the one beside the bed and the other two had dirty and cracked lampshades. The carpet was badly stained. The TV remote was so dirty I held it in a tissue. The TV itself was small, there were very few channels and the signal was so poor it was unwatchable. (Not a smart TV so no Netflix option). The bed linen seemed clean but surfaces in the room were dusty, so it felt generally unpleasant. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel, the dinner menu was limited but food was good. The breakfast server was absolutely excellent, I'm sorry I didn't get his name as he deserves a special mention. However, no amount of good staff make up for dirty bedrooms, so I wont be returning. If it was clean and a little bit more up-to-date it would be a lovely place to stay.
