Weekend Getaway

This Property Was Perfect for What We Needed
The Architecture and Decor are something out of a magazine. Three really spacious bedrooms gave us some time apart. The views are excellent (not change-your-life good but serine and pleasant). The location is within walking distance of two staple eating establishments and a great walking/biking trail passes right by the front door! I highly recommend this property and Durango in general for anyone looking for a mountain vacation!!

Great place in Durango
The Carriage House is a great place to stay and Andrew was really easy to work with. The house is exactly as it looks in the photos. Everything is up to date and it's great. The location is also really good. Walk right in to historic downtown but also close enough to highway 550 and able to get to Purgatory with ease. If you like good beer, Animas Brewing is a very short walk. And the steam engine and train came right past on the weekend. I'd highly recommend The Carriage House and if we come back to Durango we'd definitely want to stay here again.

Amazing downtown/river location
We really enjoyed our stay at the carriage house! The location was amazing - we walked downtown every night for drinks and dinner. Easy parking right out the front door which made it easy to unload. The house is well stocked and cozy. The perfect stay for a ski vacation!

Great location and beautiful house
Pros: The location is fantastic, an easy walk to downtown. The beds were all very comfortable, particularly the one in the Master bedroom. Amenities were great, with Netflix and anything you might need in the house. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s a beautiful house! There are three bedrooms (one king and two queens), with one bedroom also having a loft with a twin bed. We didn’t use the loft so not sure about that bed. Cons: The train passes quite close with the earliest train departing at 9am and the last one returning at 9pm. It’s not too bad and could be fun for kids, but not ideal if you plan to sleep in. The lights in the Master bathroom flickered, but this probably easily fixable. Overall, definitely recommend it!

Thank you for the great review . The train schedule varies a lot by season, and sometimes by year. The train normally only runs starting at 10 am and usually ending by 4 pm Nov - early may Thursday - Sundays . Over the holidays there are more trains due to the polar express which finishes around 9 pm mid Nov - new years usually Thursday -Sunday but daily over Xmas break . In the summer trains run every day and start at 8 am but finish around 6 :30 pm .

Lovely spot!
Stayed for a few nights with my family. We had a great time. The house is close to the railroad tracks so the Polar Express came by several times a day which was magical for my little girls. The house has everything you need, the set up is nice and spacious, and the location was great? We will definitely be returning to this one! Only downside I can. See would be if you were traveling with another couple is that the upstairs bathroom is in the master snd the other bathroom is downstairs next to the kitchen. Not a problem when traveling with family though.

Carriage House Stay
Excellent property. Had everything we needed to enjoy our 5 night stay. We stayed Nov.23-Nov. 27. House was quite cozy with very nice family space, kitchen and bathrooms. Kitchen was well stocked and bedrooms had comfortable beds. Easy instructions and communication by owner. Thank you and we would love to come back soon!

The Carriage House was a great location for us..easy access to restaurants and downtown shopping, as well as a trip to Purgatory and up to visit the campus at Ft. Lewis. The house was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. We were fortunate to get to see fall foliage in full splendor.

Great weekend
We had a great weekend getaway at the Carriage House! It was very conveniently located to downtown and we loved walking to breakfast and dinner every night. Easy drive to Mesa Verde and Million Dollar Highway also. Highly recommend!

This was a very clean well stocked vacation home. We were not at the rental much because we were out enjoying the Durango area, but it was so nice to come back to a clean, comfotable & quiet place to sleep

Charming little mountain house in the middle of Durango
Our family had a great stay here! We loved the location. Its right near main street with all the restaurants and shops. Our kids loved seeing the train drive right by the house and walking to the Animas River trail. (Don't worry, the train on runs by in the late morning and early evening, so it's not annoying!!) The house itself was clean and comfortable! I really appreciate there being extra supplies like toilet paper, shampoo, paper towels etc...even spices and herbs for cooking! Thank you for sharing your home, we had a great time!

Perfect location
This property was very clean, had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, plenty of room for our family of 6 and was the perfect location for our stay in Durango. The access to the river walk was fantastic and the proximity to the train could not have been any better. We loved this property and would definitely stay again.

Great Durango Carriage House
We loved staying here! Right in town. Easy to walk everywhere. Very nice, contemporary home with everything you need. Beds are comfy and air conditioners work great in the bedrooms. Very clean with plenty of space and storage. Highly recommend!

Great space and fully stocked. The only downside is road noise and daytime train noise. So, windows open during summer weather isn't ideal. There are A/C units in each room, though. We really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful home with plenty of space. The small patio off the dining was perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. Walking distance to downtown was a plus and the river trail was so close and an amazing walk. Andrew was a wonderful host! Thank you so much!

This place couldn’t be more perfect for staying in Durango! Center of town, downtown restaurants/breweries are easily walkable, right next to biking/running path. House is very clean and comfortable! Great House, Awesome Location
We were in town to visit friends and participate in the Iron Horse Cycling Classic. This house is situated perfectly on the north end of downtown and south end of the north district. So, location is perfect. Walk to beers and bites; walk to coffee; walk to the river trail. The house itself is very cool and the spaces are very well set up. Communication with the manager was easy, with very quick replies to a few last minute questions. I highly recommend. Cheers

Excellent Stay!

The Carriage House has great design and layout. Kitchen well-stocked - didn’t need anything. We had to work a few days and the WiFi was fast and reliable. Beds soooo comfortable and showers great. Location so close to town. Could hear river from master bedroom - just a perfect place.
