Cozy stay at Haliburton Forest. Trails, Wolf Centre, Canopy Tour, 100 lakes!
- Named after the bold, curious bird of northern forests, the Whiskey Jack is the unit for groups who like a little extra room. This three-bedroom holiday unit at Haliburton Forest's Base Camp sleeps up to 7 guests — one of the more generous capacities at Base Camp — with a back deck that brings the forest right to your door.
The bedroom configuration makes it easy to accommodate mixed groups: one room has a double bed and a single, while the other two each have a pair of single beds. Seven people, three rooms, everyone comfortable. The full kitchen handles real cooking: stove, full-sized fridge, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, kettle, cookware, and dishes all included. A three-piece bathroom and dining area complete the setup. Linens, pillows, facecloths, towels, dish soap and hand soap are all provided.
To be environmentally conscious the units are not supplied with any single use products. Please bring your own coffee (we have filters for the machine), tea, spices, shampoo, conditioner and soap for the shower.
The cozy covered back deck overlooking the forest is Whiskey Jack's standout feature — a private outdoor space framed by trees, perfect for morning coffee, post-hike stretches, or quiet stargazing.
Note this unit is not pet-friendly.
Planning a bigger gathering? The Fireplace is right across the hallway — book both and comfortably house 10 to 13 guests. Base Camp gives you everything within walking distance: the Camp Store, the Boshkung Smokehouse, the Wolf Centre, and direct access to 400+ km of year round trails and 100 lakes through Ontario's legendary cottage country.
Cook smores over a fire at one of our communal firepits, enjoy an outdoor game from our games shed and be sure to test your skills finding our hidden Geocaches!
When planning your trip be sure to book our guided experiences ahead of time: Canopy Tour, Clay Target Shooting, Ice Fishing, Fly Fishing, Tin Boat Fishing and/or one of our many exceptional experiences through Yours Outdoors and the Wolf Centre: Dinner With Wolves, Guided Fishing, Glassblowing, etc.
Don't have your own gear? We rent canoes, bikes, snowshoes AND snowmobiles!
