Instead of cancelling the booking from their end the host messaged me on trivago, since I was expecting a message anyway for the login code, and you have to login to read messages I left it. Host also alerted trivago it was double booked, who did not contact me either. Drove all the way to Dunedin with 2 kids, stranded and nowhere to stay. Spent $400 to stay at scenic circle for the first night, Dunedin was booked out for the second night so we had to drive...

“What a wonderful stay in Dunedin! From the moment I arrived, the property had everything I could have wanted — nothing was missing. The location is absolutely perfect. Waking up to a stunning ocean view from the balcony was a real highlight, and stepping out for a morning/afternoon walk along the beach couldn't have been easier. “The accomodation here is unlike any backpackers you may have seen or stayed at on your travels. An old but gracious manor that has been refurbed in a style that definitely would be termed "lived in luxury " that "embraces nostalgia" .......its central to Dunedin City , has an outside seated smokers area where there is a bbq available to use and doubles as a great space to share drinks and chillax to music as it is sheltered from the road and has privacy from neighbouring homes. . “Had to ask for the heat to be turned on. After the room never got any warmer had to call front desk. They brought up a portable heater which did help. Turned heater off for the night and room temperature went back down by the morning. Also, it’s necessary to navigate stairs to get to room. Elevator does not open at floor level ”

“Location was perfect. Right by restaurants and shops. Parking also available. Two bedroom unit was good Instructions left for TV which is always helpful and there was a radio. Unit was quite cold when we first arrived but by the next day was warm. Also electric blankets on beds. Need those in Dunedin in winter. Really enjoyed our stay and would book again.”
