Summary:

Welcome to The Mudminnow! Enjoy one of Edisto’s best porches: 350+ sqft screened plus 300+ sqft open deck overlooking a serene lagoon—perfect for coffee, and front-row wildlife viewing (egrets, herons & more) We are just a short walk to the beach and close to nearby restaurants, stores, Edisto Marina, golf course, etc. Inside: hardwoods throughout, new vanities, new tiled walk-in master shower, 55" tv, and more. We have poured our hearts into this home and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.



The Space:

Experience one of Edisto’s best porches, where you can relax and unwind. Your private outdoor oasis features over 350 sq. ft. of screened-in comfort and an additional 300 sq. ft. open deck, all overlooking the peaceful lagoon. It's the perfect spot for your morning coffee or evening cocktails, offering a front-row seat for viewing local wildlife like egrets, herons, deer, turtles, etc.



We are just a short walk from the beach, putting the sand and surf right at your fingertips. Inside, you'll find a bright, airy, and clean home with a welcoming coastal theme. We have poured our hearts into renovating this space, and key features include:

- Site-finished oak hardwoods throughout the home.

- Fresh paint, new vanities, and modern fixtures.

- An open-plan living area with a 55” TV, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.

- A fully updated master bathroom with a beautiful new tiled walk-in shower.



Guest Access:

You will have private access to the entire property throughout your stay. Enjoy a seamless self-check-in process using a combination deadbolt lock. Detailed instructions and your unique access code will be provided before your arrival.



The Neighborhood:

Beach, grocery store, shopping, coffee shop, restaurants, The Plantation Golf Course, Botany Bay, Edisto marina, Edisto Serpentarium, Edisto Beach State Park, etc are all nearby.



Getting Around:

Golf cart and/or bike rentals are highly encouraged to explore the island. Beach access is just a couple hundred yards away.



Other Things to Note:

To ensure a smooth start to your vacation, we will provide detailed check-in and check-out instructions at least 24 hours before your arrival. Trip insurance is highly recommended since hosts are unable to provide refunds due to inclement weather or hurricanes.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Edisto Beach! The property was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location was ideal—just a short walk to the beach, with beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. The home was well-stocked with everything we needed, from kitchen essentials to beach gear, making it easy to relax and enjoy our time. Communication with the host was smooth and responsive, and check-in was a breeze. Edisto Beach itself is a hidden gem—quiet, charming, and full of natural beauty. We can't wait to come back!

We were well pleased with the “Mud Minnow”! The host Tyler was very prompt in responding. He sent a message asking if check-in went ok! All the instructions sent were accurate! House was very clean and stocked with essentials, and nicely decorated. Enjoyed watching the wildlife around the lagoon! Only bad thing was our time spent there was too short!! Will definitely keep this place in mind when renting again! Thank you!!

Family First

Mudminnow is an amazing house. The serenity of the back porch pulled my family together and allowed us to fellowship more in one week than we have in the last year. Every morning a family member would roll out of bed, get a cup of coffee and head straight to the back porch. The birds would sing, the oak trees would sway and the chimes would make music that restored our souls. Enough can’t be said about how kind and responsive Tyler was to the needs of my family. The house was fully stocked with every need that arose. It is perfectly laid out and has plenty of room for family bonding. The Mudminnow is a magical place on a magical island. We can’t wait to return.

Relaxing island stay

Cottage was pretty much what we were looking for: comfortable, convenience to the beach, and relatively reasonably prices. Would definitely benefit from a couple of chaise lounges on the porch.

Great spot for families

A short drive from Charleston, we love Edisto and this was a fantastic place for our family. Close enough to the beach to hear the waves crashing with a nice pond view. Would totally book again. A short drive to the State Park or the education center off the island. Our toddler loved the basket of toys. Kitchen has plenty of space for cooking a meal or prepping a Frogmore stew. Maybe next time we’ll bring the boat or bikes.

Long weekend paradise!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this property. The house was great and the porch was phenomenal. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had no issues with hot water or water pressure. The location was great!! It was a quick walk to the beach and not far at all from the shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again in the future!!

Wonderful weekend celebrating our son's engagment!!

This home is an absolute gem. It is a true combination of an old style Edisto beach cottage with updated features. The location is about a 5 minute walk to the beach. I can honestly say this is one of the very best homes I have rented on VRBO. It exceeded my expectaions and the owners were so easy to work and communicate with. I am already looking at dates to return this summer! You will not be dissappointed.

We were working at the Edisto Fire Department and this house was perfect for us. The location was great and the porch was the best part. We truly enjoyed our overnight stay and wish it could have been longer. Tyler was a pleasure to work with. Our team works at Edisto annually and we plan to make this our new place to stay.
