Thistle Dew won't do!

I have stayed in many VRBO properties and given great reviews, but this was the worst place I've ever seen. The cleaning crew had forgotten to sweep, vacuum and clean so upon entering the porch there was crushed fruit loops all over the floor. There was dirt all over the rugs, carpets and kitchen floor. Black hair ball on the end table, dirty wet towel on the nightstand, wet throw rugs left in the washing machine with no laundry soap in sight, no toilet paper in the bathrooms, the comforters, pillows and mattress covers were filthy, one of the extra blankets in the closet had what appeared to be poop smeared on it. The carpets were deep down dirty like there were paths of dirt in the high traffic areas. I could never have stayed in this house! Thankfully the real estate company was great and found us a beautiful place to stay. I would highly recommend that the owners give this place a complete overhaul. Thanks for reading.

Great location, house needs a little TLC

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Thistle Dew. Edisto Island has beautiful beaches, and you can catch both the sunrise and the sunset from different points along the coast. We loved the bike paths and also used this as a jumping off point to tour Charleston. The home has an exceptional layout for families: King and 2 twins on one side of the main floor, two Queen bedrooms on the other. The second level is the loft room, and each bedroom has a bathroom attached. The home needs a little TLC. Carpets, furniture, and bedspreads are stained, and every bathroom has some level of water damage near the shower. Also, the oven is in need of repair or replacement. When entering a temperature, only the 3, 6, 9, and 0 buttons work. This did not keep us from having a fantastic week, but little heads up for owner and future renters. Also - the home DOES have a washer/dryer, although it was not included in the listing information when we rented.
