Dirty, rude, over priced, disappointing

I stayed in Edmonton with my family. First; when booking, she was kind. Once we arrived at our VRBO - the way to get in felt very unsafe. The host was rude in her messages and the area also was street parking, and noisy. There was dirty socks under the couch, pizza box with pizza in the fridge, a BOOGER on the stair wall, a lot of food in the freezer, no garbage, and a lot of maintenance problems: bathroom door doesn’t latch, bed frame not attached to the bed, etc. You practically share a door with whoever is under or beside. No TVs in 2/3 bedrooms, the walls are so thin you can hear every move above you. The living room and bedrooms look nothing like the photos. I would never recommend this place.

Perfect for us

We were in Edmonton for my mother's memorial at the Unitarian Church of Edmonton so location was perfect. The host can be slow to respond and didn't share access until 5 hours before check-in. BUT, a set of AirPods was leff behind and when I reached out, she was fairly quickly able to find them and allow us to have them collected by a family member - this part was above and beyond and we're grateful. The house was clean but did need a few maintenance repairs - the host was notified and I'm confident these will be addressed. We would definitely stay again.

No timely communication.

Didn't stay at this location. Ended up getting a hotel room. Reached out several times in the days leading up to our booking. Waited a half hour for host to respond day of check-in, no response. Host apparently had an account log-in issue. Neighborhood appeared nice. Our fees were refunded. Hopefully the issue between the host and Vrbo have been rectified. The host did appear apologetic once they did respond.
