“Staff were really friendly and helpful. Place was clean and our room was spacious. Breakfast was simple and we were well catered for. We were able to park on the morning of check-in, so we could go for a wander and then check-in later. Hotel is an easy 15 minute walk from Ambleside and it's various amenities.”

“Check in was easy we were greeted and shown to our room, parking on site is always a bonus. The house is spotlessly clean and stylishly decorated. The room albeit small was comfortable and had everything we required. Breakfast was served in a comfortable dining room and as we had ordered. My vegan breakfast was lovely. “All over it was a good property to stay with my family. Living room is bit packed with dining table and chairs. There wasn't any tea bags/coffee or suger, luckily there is a shop 1 min walk managed to buy some. First time we used the cooker spider came out from cooker hood. Wasn't the best experience but it was funny.”

“Perfect place for a getaway. We were warmly welcomed by the host who straight away recommended places to go for dinner. Our room was lovely with a beautiful view of the countryside. We had a full English cooked for us which was spot on as we departed to climb scafell. We definitely would stay at this hotel again when we next visit the lakes ”

“The house is in a beautiful location and we were greeted by Alfie. We were made welcome from the very beginning and looked after well. Our twin room was perfect with amazing views. We were recommended a walk to the lake and took a picnic, beautiful scenery and incredibly relaxing. A must do! We were provided with a delicious cooked breakfast and fresh bread. We will absolutely be visiting again and we wished we’d stayed longer than 1 night. ”
