“Stay was great, internet needs upgraded to handle more devices. Only complaint”

“We were in town for a wedding weekend. We had a total of 6 adults that stayed here. The wedding was at Countryside Banquet and Catering in Washington, IL. So the drive was simple and under 15 minutes from the Cottage on Columbus . We also enjoyed walking to the restaurants, ice cream at The Daily Scoop and Pour Brothers Craft Taproom as well as the local outstanding bakery, Trefzger’s. Known for scrumptious items but my fav are the thumb print cookies. This is a nice and safe neighborhood...

“I booked this location with the understanding that there were two beds. One bed in the den that was actually a closet. There wasnt much silverware, and coffee cups so we had to wash dishes. NO hand soap in the bathroom. And only TWO HORRIBLE PILLOWS ON THE BED. NO EXTRA ANYTHING. The bed was very comfortable, but I had to by pillows bc the ones provides were so thin. Extra linens and pillows would have been great. Also a bigger trash in the kitchen. A bath mat by the shower. And said...

“Thanks had a good time. Close to many things and comfortable.”

“Place is not what it is cracked up to be in the pics. Must have big critters bag of rat poison sitting on the furnace….”

“Quiet Neighbourhood, 20 minute to 30 minute walk to coffee, shops and restaurants”

“The initial communication was good. However the property has issues that need to be addressed: mold in the basement, a syringe was found above a ceiling fan when the handyman came to service it. Once I advised the host of this all communication stopped. We couldn’t use 1 of the bedrooms and on the main floor due to it looking like a make-shift bed frame that could break at any moment. The tub was filthy & there were ants in there. I feel the cleaning crew is sub-par & has not been forthcoming...

“The great things about the house:-attractive, comfortable furniture-very comfortable mattress-plenty of towels-lots of hangers (thanks!)-laundry baskets in each bedroom-washer and dryerThe less-than-great things:-the driveway has a deep hole near the street-when we arrived, the driveway was wet and muddy; the welcome mat was dirty and soaking wet, so we tracked mud into the house. There was no mat inside the door to wipe our feet.-the floors were dirty—once a mop was provided, I mopped the...

“The property was advertised as an oasis. While the beds were comfortable and overall the property was clean, on the Friday evening we arrived, the front and back yard were unmowed, and the lights in the dining room, kitchen and oven hood did not work. Several lamps throughout the property were missing light bulbs. A towel holder in the half bath was not secure to the wall. There were extra pillows but no extra pillow cases, there was a pile of laundry in the laundry room, the bottom fridge...

“** RENTER BEWARE **I originally rented the Bumble Bee Cottage from 1/28/26 through 1/31/26 (spoiler: I left 1/30 because of the nastiness described below). The cottage looked decent at first glance.I was tired from a long travel day, so I prepared for bed after eating dinner. When I went to pull back the comforter from the bed, I discovered first that the white pillows had VARIOUS TYPES OF HAIRS on the pillowcases and sheets! One pillowcase had a red stain. I ended up having to go to Walmart to...

“The house was as peaceful and relaxing as we remembered. Thanks for an amazing place to stay! ”
