“Ella is a dream and this property was so nice! The whole ambiance is beautiful and calming. They even have a garden on the premises. Our room has a magnificent view great for watching the sunrise. I opted to watch from outside near the garden. It was so magical to watch the Sun rise while listening to the birds serenade in the background and faint Buddhist chants growing gradually louder as the Sun came up! I highly recommend this property for your stay in Ella and wish we could have stayed...

“Great little friendly hotel in beautiful Ella. Walking distance to town, restaurants and pubs. The hill Is a little steep to walk but if you find it hard you can get a tuk tuk for a couple of dollars. The room was clean and tidy and had a nice balcony. Staff really helpful. Totally recommend.”

“An amazing experience, sleeping in the canopy of the forest. We saw lots of animals and fireflies at night. Accommodation is basic as you would expect but beds and bathroom were clean. Ella is a 5-10 minute walk away via the railway tracks. Route was easy to find as directed by our host. Breakfast was delicious and filling.”

“This year, I have slept on multiple beds in multiple countries. Colombia, Guatemala, Belize, Mexico, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Jordan, Sri Lanka, and Ella Green Cottages had the best mattress I've had all year. My first night at Ella Green Cottages was literally the best night of sleep that I had in months. Also, whenever I needed anything, the employees immediately stopped doing whatever they were doing and saw to my needs. Best customer service I experienced in the country. ”

“The view was amazing at Belmont it was absolutely breath taking and the rooms and washrooms were very clean. The breakfast was good as well. The only caution to look out for it there’s bugs that come in the room at night through the door to the balcony if there’s so hidden spaces, but if u stuff a bag or something in those spaces it should be okay. ”

“Great location, right next to the Main Street where all the restaurants and shops. The hotel itself is more of a guest house. Rooms are very basic - but very large. Can easily accommodate 4 people. Breakfast is either sri-lanken or western, they are very generous with the quantities. If you are looking for a 4/5 star hotel - it’s not the place for you. It is a low budget option for families who prefer that kind of experience. We enjoyed :)”
