“Stayed here for a night before a Doubtful Sound cruise. The location was perfect (right down the street from the RealNZ ferry). The facilities were simple but very comfy. Right along the water with multiple paths around the grounds. Felt like a cool little community with many different travelers. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to this area!”

“The lodge is located in a very remote location, despite of getting groceries are so inconvenient, Blake showed great generosity and hospitality to all the guests, make us feel like staying in an old friend's house. Kitchen, bathroom, and bed linen are of 5-stars clean. If you're planning to go on the Hump Ridge Track, choose Rarakau Lodge for your pre-departure accommodation is definitely the best option. ”

“Room was on ground level with a parking spot directly opposite the room. The room was clean and tidy as was the bathroom and small kitchenette. Bed and couch were comfortable and there was a small dining table to sit at. Service at reception was friendly and The motel is a nice quiet street and a short stroll along the water/lake into town to get some food. ”
