“Spent two nights because we were in the area to purchase a car. Very pleasantly surprised - the online photos didn't do justice to how lovely the hotel is. Old shoe factory and they paid homage to shoes everywhere you looked (but very tastefully done). Very clean and the staff was friendly and competent. Within walking distance to the town and other restaurants. There was a nice paved walking/biking path along the James River below the hotel - they supplied bikes and it was a beautiful ride....

“The rooms were immaculate. Front desk staff and housekeeping were very accomodating. The entire hotel was well taken care of. The only negative for the hotel is that the breakfast was so so. I would most definitely stay here again. ”

“Check in was quick, room was clean and comfortable. We were in room 111 and the room above us had a dog and people who stomped and pitter pattered on the floor all night. I called the front desk at 11:00pm when they advised they would contact the occupant but it continued ALL night! Suggestion to staff: all guests with pets should be placed on the first floor. Did not get a restful night of sleep.”
