Not from the area, we were traveling between the National Parks and wanted a base camp for a couple of nights. First, what we loved about it: cottage was expertly decorated and had premium linens (soft and comfy sheets, thick towels). Fireplace is a nice touch though we didn’t have time to enjoy it. We were afraid at first the bed would be too soft but we all slept soundly and comfortably. What could use improvement: we had coffee but no cups. The shower had shampoo and conditioner but no soap/body wash or lotion. My son and I both felt like our hair had some sort of residue after using the shampoo. I didn’t have that using my own the second morning. The shower was a little challenging; it’s low so my 5’ 10” husband had to stoop and the temperature control handle is really tight. A box of Kleenex would be a nice, simple amenity. I’m not sure if I was communicating with a person or automated texts. I got a text soon after booking with arrival instructions. I assumed it was from a person and responded right away with a question about dining options. We didn’t get a reply for over five hours. Was checking Yelp for restaurants so had some idea we might be in trouble time-wise but was still surprised to arrive at 8:40 pm and find the one restaurant that was supposed to be open was closed. Not the inn's fault, but would have been nice to know. especially as I'd texted that we were coming from Carlsbad and arriving late. Texted to check-in and ask where to park and got no reply. On
