This cozy open-concept apartment is located above a detached garage and is surrounded by towering pines, aspens, abundant wildlife, fresh mountain air, and incredible night skies. Whether you’re visiting to explore the outdoors, visit The Great Sand Dunes National Park, or simply unplug and relax, this mountain retreat offers the perfect home base.

The apartment features a comfortable and functional layout designed for couples, small families, hikers, hunters visiting nearby public lands, or anyone looking for a quiet mountain getaway.

• Fully equipped kitchen for preparing meals

The apartment is situated above our detached garage, while our separate cabin is nearby on the property. We are available if you need assistance, recommendations, or have questions during your stay, but we also fully respect our guests’ privacy. Many guests enjoy a quiet and independent stay while still appreciating that someone is nearby if needed.

Forbes Park is known for its peaceful setting, wildlife, and access to outdoor recreation. Guests frequently see deer, elk, wild turkeys, bears, and other wildlife right from the property. The area is especially popular for hiking, scenic drives, photography, and stargazing.

We are located approximately 300 yards from San Isabel National Forest and near Colorado Game Management Unit 85, providing easy access to public lands and outdoor recreation opportunities.

Please note that Forbes Park does not allow hunting, ATVs, motorcycles, or recreational shooting within the subdivision.

Because Forbes Park is remote, guests should plan ahead and fill up on gas, bring groceries and supplies with them. Cell service becomes limited once you enter the park, although WiFi is available inside the apartment. The nearest grocery stores and services are located in Fort Garland, Walsenburg, and Alamosa.
