Like..comfy duvet and pillows,fireplace,restaurant on site Dislike..no smoke detector,no room info or any checkin info,super spotty wifi so tv not useable,in room ceiling not good

Hi Darlene,We are happy we could make you comfortable. We apologize for the wifi. Under bad weather in our rural area that does happen more often then we like. I will be updated info here on Expedia. Please know when booking through any 3rd party site to always refer to the Resorts main website to do more research as these sites can be vague. Please think about that in the future at any destination you may choose. Our Resort is a historical building and has been in our small town for more then 100 years so we hope to keep up on yearly renovations to restore the beauty. Thank you for visiting us!

Drove 10 hours through a snowstorm to stay here as I have an appointment the next morning in the vicinity. Called 8 times - 8 times! - during the day to try to find out how late check-in can be as the only indication is that it starts at 3 pm. Each time there was no answer, a voicemail response picked up and there was no more room in the voicemail to leave a message. Finally arrived at 7 pm to a completely empty motel with zero cars in the lot - no guests and no staff? Everything was closed. Anticipating problems, I managed to maintain enough range to get to Sudbury as needed and did - rented a hotel for twice the price and now need to drive back to Alban in the morning. It's a veritable scam.

Very nice room. Bed was so comfy, we had to strip the bed and take a pic so we can buy our own. Loved the restaurant on site. Coffee in the room was delicous too. Manager was super nice. I would recommend they get curtains that acutally cover the window. Bathroom had some tiles that need work and broken fan. Also room was quite dark, needed a few more lamps. Over all, 4 out of 5.

Great rooms and lovely staff. The restaurant opened early and had delicious and affordable breakfast options! Our room had a beautiful view of the French River.

For the price the room was sufficient for 2. Wish there was a deck area at the back of the building to sit and enjoy the water. Each cottage had a fire pit but the other rooms only had a front deck. Watching the highway. The only suggestion I made was they they shorten the curtain that hung over the air conditioner (right beside the bed so a little noisy). Had to keep it open to keep the room cool. So early morning light right beside the bed.

Amazing stay at this beautiful resort! I had lower expectations and they were easily exceeded by this wonderful place! I had thought that since this was the only hotel that would take us in the area, that we were just getting whatever we could for the night. I didn't expect such a lovely dock/waterfront, or such an enjoyable restaurant experience! Our room was beautiful and newly renovated as well! We're already considering another trip here next year. Thanks Riverdale Resort and staff!

True Canadiana at its Best!
Stayed for 3 nights Monday to Thursday. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The resort was quiet and peaceful; a gorgeous waterfront spot on the French River. There’s new kayaking equipment that we used every day. We did a combination of cooking in the cottage and eating in the restaurant which was tasty and well priced. The owner and all the staff were helpful with anything we needed. The resort is under new ownership and there have been many renovations and improvements since the first time I stayed there 3 years ago. I look forward to coming back again.

We (our family: 2 adults, 2 kids, and a dog) drove up from Toronto the night before a canoe camping trip, and stayed here so we could have an early morning canoe launch. We arrived late on a Friday, and left after breakfast Saturday. Staff was great, beds were comfortable, room was clean and quiet. Would definitely stay again.

I paid for my room online using Expedia. I was billed again when I checked in. When I called the hotel they told me this wasn't possible and made no attempt to resolve the issue. In the end I had to waste more time calling my bank and Expedia to resolve the issue. At this time I still have not received a refund for the double billing. The owner is completely uninterested in resolving the issue.

Waste of money
Info on Hotels.com was WRONG! What I thought I was reserving was 2 bedroom cabin, #14 at $130 for one night. When i got there they said it was wrong, that $130 was for a room not a cabin, even though the pictures and info on website said cabin, the cabins are supposedly $250/night! So they gave me the cabin for $200 tax in. $60 more then what I had budgeted for 😡. They warned me that there was dripping on the walkway of the cabin, so it's a little slippy. BIG UNDERSTATEMENT! Wasn't a little ice, it was DANGEROUS! Reservation said 2 queen beds, they were doubles! The bedrooms are so small, you can't even keep your luggage in the room with the bed! Only half a roll of toilet paper, no kleenex, no hand soap, no papertowels. The shower door doesnt close properly, so i had to wipe up water from the bathroom floor when done. Yay, Housework on my vacation. There is so much iron in the water that the whole place stinks. Had to move the love seat in front of the front door because thats where the tv is, it's wall mounted but doesn't pull away from the wall to be angled towards the sitting room. The beds are hard. One bedrooms heat wouldnt turn off and it felt like summer, even with the thermostat turned all the way down, meanwhile the rest of the place felt cold. I will not be staying here again.

Planned to stay one night, stayed two. Very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful location. Great place to have a grab to eat and the rooms feels very cozy and were recently renovated.
