Portions of the beach can be seen from the rental but it is just a short walk to the beach. We enjoyed our time at the beach with a few others there at the end of September. It was wonderful. The house was clean and the A/C worked. Not all rooms have ceiling fans but our smaller party didn't occupy the entire house. The two smaller bathrooms could use a few updates and maintenance along with water pressure. Overall we enjoyed our stay and look forward to rebooking in the future. You will get your exercise with the stairs outside and inside. Currently the house across the street is under construction.

Large family beach house

Check in went fine. Small kitchen. Large burner on range don’t work. Maintenance concerns with dishwasher falling out, one of the spindles on the top porch was cracked, not good for children. Spindles on outside stairs loose, couch in poor shape, kitchen chair and table unstable. Bottom of bath tub seal open and rotting. Laminate floor coming up in kitchen near back door, sharp edges. Nails sticking up on the stairs. For the price, not a good value.

The arrival and check in process was seamless. It’s in a great location when it comes to being near the beach and great food options. The house was just as described. Everything we needed was available. It was a great location to stay before boarding the cruise ship. 20 min drive to the port. We would stay here again.

Quick family vacay

Stayed with 10 adults and 1 child. Location was great quick easy walk to the beach. You cannot drive on this part of the beach so be aware. But it is a quick walk. Just a couple minor repairs would be nice , door handles on inside doors, dining room tables were nice. Lots of room! Would recommend replacing the chairs that are cushioned on the main dining table. Rug in the main living area needs to be replaced. Corners turn up and caused a couple stumbles. Chairs felt like you might fall through them. Lots of stairs so. Be prepared. The kitchen is above the majority of bedrooms. AC was great. Lots of kitchen utensils and cookware! Loved having the outdoor shower! Fire pit was also a plus. We brought cutter yard spray to use around the fire pit and never felt a mosquito! Loft is not for the faint at heart.. stair/ ladder not for us old folks.. Smart tvs in the bedrooms would be nice ( even if small ones) kids wanted their own shows as they got ready for bed. Only real drawback was the trash had not been picked up upon arrival and smelled terrible! We took it out to the road because it was right by the stairs! Host tried to get it picked up but was still there when we left. Overall great stay! Lots of room just too many stairs for us! ( stairs could use a safety gate of some kind or supply one for those with toddlers) the stairs were to wide for a normal baby gate.

Needs serious updating…

Location was great! Plenty of sleeping space. One pack-n-play crib was new and clean, but the other was old and dirty. The pictures of the house were misleading. The exterior, the bathrooms, the living room furniture, all need repair or replacement.We would not stay here again until these items are updated.

Close to beach

Location gets 5/5. Wish there was some basic condiments like sugar, salt pepper etc. overall the stay was comfortable. The house is very large with many bedrooms to have large family gathering. They accommodated my date change so swiftly. Grateful!!

Great location for Family Reunion

We booked this home for a family reunion. It has been 20 years since the last reunion and we were really looking forward to seeing each other and spending time together. This property is well located for beach access and is well appointed. The only issue is the number of stairs to climb to get into the house and the kitchen being on the top floor. Otherwise it was a great house for our reunion.

Great Family Getaway

We had a great time in Galveston at this house. The location was great since it was close enough to town that we had easy access to restaurants and activities but far enough removed that the beach was not too crowded. The layout is not ideal when traveling with little kids that wake up early because all the bedrooms except one are below the main living area and kitchen. The steps to the loft are also very steep and there is no bathroom up there. Would probably be a good place for teens to sleep but not little kids or adults who need to use the bathroom at night. Some work was being done on the house during our stay so a flapping tarp in the side of the house kept us up one night but management was very responsive and maintenance came the next day to fix it. Overall, not a perfect house but reasonably priced for a big group and a great location!

Nice place but needs maintenance and personal care

Our stay was good, but we had a few things that could have been avoided if there was proper maintenance for the place. We received several emails saying check in is at 4, do not arrive earlier. We arrived at 4:20, and the cleaners were still cleaning the house. We finally got in around 4:40, the floors were wet from mopping. The A/C was not working and it was very hot in the house. The management company sent a repair man who came and replaced the batteries for the thermostat. The A/C worked, but it took a couple of hours to get the temperature down. The microwave and coffee maker did not work. We went to walmart and bought our own coffee maker. The fridge had a broken shelf. We had no communication with an actual "owner", all the communication was with different people from a management company who clearly was nowhere near the house to check on it regularly and make sure it was ready to be leased. Also, when we booked the house they insisted on knowing exactly how many people we had and the reason for our staying there, would not accept vacation as an answer. When we told them we had 19 people including children, they said it is going to be tight, even though the house is advertised to fit 20 people. Overall we had a good time, the fit was just fine, the management company allowed us to check out 2 hours later than normal checkout time because of all the problems.
