Never again
We have been visiting Galveston for as long as I can remember and this was easily the worst house we’ve rented. Let’s list why, because it’s a lot. 1.) despite the picture of hammocks, me reaching out and verifying there ARE hammocks after reading a review saying there were none, there in fact NO hammocks. 2. A large chunk of the house fell off the deck while the wind was blowing and almost hit my husband and my car. Yes, you read that correctly. A chunk of the house FELL OFF and almost hit my husband and car. 3. I literally got stuck in the primary bathroom because of poor layout and design. The primary bathroom door is a bar door, and if someone opens the main door fully it jams the bathroom door closed. If I were staying alone I would have had to literally break the door to get out. 4. The wasp nest directly outside the front door. We had to fight for our lives getting in and out of the house because of the swarm of wasps. My 6 year old daughter was stung in the back. 5. There were no working batteries in the tv remote. We had to go purchase our own batteries to be able to watch tv. 6. There is a literal plastic cover (think grandmas house in the 80’s) on the bed directly under the sheets. So not only did we stick to the bed it was extremely hot. 7. There is no dishwasher. Yet they leave dishwashing detergent as a way to clean your dishes. Please explain that. 8. There is no welcome book, or check out expectations. 9. There were little bugs everywhere.
