The refrigerator drained the battery for the generator, so we couldn't use it reliably. “The property was lovely, and the host was wonderful!”

“Not as advertised; teeny. The photos made it look spacious. The front yard was being raked and seeded for grass when we arrived so there were broken branches on our path. The deck, table and chairs had not been cleaned and we're dirty and covered with leaf litter. The room had no comfy chair, only a floor lamp with a bare bulb. No hooks for hanging anything and no coat hangers. We left to find another place to stay and have been promised a refund that has not come through. Very disappointed!”

“This lake cottage was peaceful, serene and just plain magical! The screened porch was a wonderful cocoon from which we enjoyed views of the lake and wildlife while sipping coffee and eating meals. “The location was a 10 minute drive from Boothbay and the rooms were newly renovated and very cute. But some of the furniture was coming apart during normal use. Biggest concerns were as follows:1. Very poor communication from host. They didn't provide us with entry information until the morning of, and didn't answer our messages. We ended up calling VRBO the night before as we were scared from the lack of contact. They got ahold of the host who finally answered us the night before arrival. At...

“The cottage was great but the check-in was very stressful. Owner did not send email with info until Saturday morning and it went to my Spam folder. No one was on site when I first got there but someone working in the garden got hold of the owner and let me in. Website says check-in was after 3PM but owner said it was 5PM. Needs to update that on website. After a10-hour drive I was not happy.”
