Just what we needed
We were looking for a place to call home for a wedding weekend and this place ended up being perfect. It was very rainy, so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoors quite as much, but the house had everything we needed.

Beautiful Lake View & Home
The view of the lake is incredible! It was so relaxing to sit on the porch and enjoy the calm. The house was clean and well stocked with whatever we needed. Pots, pans, utensils, dishes and the best coffee pot we’ve had at a VRBO. The home was comfortable and had great feel. Like most lake homes, the surrounding neighborhood doesn’t always match the type of house you are headed to. We never felt unsafe and all of the neighbors we passed were very friendly. 10/10 recommend! Thank you for the great experience

Scary Area
I would have given this place a better overall rating if the area hadn’t been so sketchy. The house was adorable and clean, I didn’t have any problems with that at all. What’s not mentioned in the listing is that this house sits in the middle of an area where we didn’t feel safe. Some of the windows didn’t lock and the back double doors could have easily been broken into. The host was very easy to contact and was always prompt in responding to questions.

Lorie, I wish you would have reached out to us upon arrival had you felt unsafe at any point. The area is remote, but commonly traveled by tourists and the residents around the neighborhood. We have never had an issue with safety and I am glad that everything went well for you. I will follow up with our maintenance to see about our doors as we strive to provide a safe and comfortable environment for our guests.

Really unique with a beautiful view!
We were concerned upon arrival due to passing through lots of run down areas getting to the house. The property didn't have me expecting such a huge side yard and the pool table/game room in the garage was really a bonus! We enjoyed the family centered layout of the house and the views were phenomenal. The owner was very easy to work with as well. We knew that internet would be spotty so that wasn't an issue. We found the beds to be extremely comfortable too. The house is stocked with high end dishes/utenils/cookware/linens which is always a plus. There was a strong smell when we entered the house--like a dog smell, maybe? But the house was immaculately clean. We got some Febreze and fragrance plug ins and it became something we just barely could notice. I have a nose like a blood hound though so that's likely more me than the property. We ran out of hot water because of the big tub and having five people so plan around that, but the games, the porch, even the extra upstairs space we also rented--met our needs perfectly and we hope to return again!

We are on a septic which can sometimes lead to a smell when the water isn't run often between guests. Our crew works hard to ensure that the property is sanitized and spotless at every turnover, but I'll be sure to double check! Please come back and see us!

Quick Getaway
Had a quick relaxing getaway to this lovely quaint home. Vickie was super responsive and the home was clean and cozy. The beds were super comfortable and we had everything we needed. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back and visit. Highly recommend for a relaxing time away!

Serene lakeside view
Incredible patio/view for our family gathering. Could enjoy it even from indoors though all the windows. Comfortable beds, cozy living area, delightful bay window & dining area. Bunk room small & obviously it does have bunk beds but the beds are comfortable. The extra guest room is probably best for one person but we were 2 & made it work for us. Enjoyed playing corn hole toss on the patio and pool in the garage with the door open and the sun coming in. Best spice cabinet I’ve ever seen in a VRBO. We loved it. & thank you Vickie for working with us.

The view out back and patio kinda erased a few disappointments
We arrived after dark and had a little trouble finding it. It was confusing. It felt as if we were sneaking around trying to find it. There was very little lighting when entering. I thought there were beds for 3 couples. The 3rd bedroom had bunk beds. A couple slept on an air mattress. Everything else was great! Upon leaving, the gate broke and my husband fixed it. I think it was a bit over priced. I think the guest house should not be extra. We loved the patio and the view of the lake.

Beautiful views, beautifully furnished. Had a baby supplies if needed. Very clear and private. We had a relaxing time. The outdoor fireplace is inviting. We would definitely stay again.

Owl Creek Home Getaway
A unique property overlooking Lake Belton. Wonderful details in design and accessories throughout. We had everything we needed for cooking (cookies and pot roast). Great beds and beautiful views.

Family Time
What a wonderful stay! The view over the lake and the extensive porch made family time a pleasure. The owners are very helpful and responsive. Our son lost his keys in the couch, and the owners helped us find them quickly and get on our way.

Great Villa overlooking a lake
We stayed here for my daughter's graduation from Baylor. The drive is about 45 min from Waco. The home is clean, well decorated and has a great view. Loved the porch. We enjoyed low key family time. Would recommend for a get away.

Perfectly peaceful
My friend and I needed to get away- a quiet place to grasp some hard times we have been through. The back porch in this home was nothing short of perfect. The beds were some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in that I will book again just to have a nights sleep like the last 2 I have had. It isn’t close to much so shop before you go but that is the point!

Out of the City
The peace and quiet of the property was such a welcome break from the unfamiliar (and frankly whacky) highways of Texas. This property quickly felt like home and gave us the opportunity to make some memories with our transplanted family. The only thing I would change is providing more blankets as it got chilly at night.

Meeting Place for Family
This was a perfect central meeting place for three brothers and their wives in Texas to meet and spend a couple of days visiting and reminiscing. The house is wonderful and the porch and deck are perfect for enjoying the magnificent view. The house is well equipped and had everything we needed, except we are all coffee drinkers and we knew the four cup pot would not make enough for us. So, we brought a bigger pot. Also, I guess I didn’t check the descriptions well enough. I didn’t realize that one room was only bunk beds! A couple in their 70’s had to sleep on the bunk beds. 😄 The location of the house is great but the drive through the neighborhood to the house caused us a little concern until we actually saw where we were staying. It was a great place and everyone had a great time!

Overall experience was very nice. Kitchen is well stocked.
The weather was wet and cold but we still managed to enjoy the beautiful balcony and scenery. Would like to stay again in the spring or fall. The home was well supplied and accommodated my family.

Nice getaway
My family and I stayed here for about 4 days… it was such a nice hideout spot and the views were gorgeous. We mostly enjoyed the quietness and ability to connect with each other through nature. The house is spacious and cozy. All we were looking for to enjoy time together and away from city life.

Great Getaway!
My family and I rented this as a vacation house for our whole family to get together and getaway. It was absolutely perfect! The home and view are beautiful! The amenities were great and the house (and guest house) were big enough for 7 adults, 2 kiddos and a dog comfortably! We will definitely go back again! The host was awesome as well! She was great with communicating quickly and accommodating! Loved it!

A great place to stay for a quiet getaway.

Beautiful View/ Relaxing Trip
The house is exactly how it’s presented on the listing. All the comforts of home, lovely furnishings, Outdoor fireplace, games, water equipment! The beds are so very comfortable and the kitchen has everything needed to make your meals. Enjoyed Temple…Treno pizza, 1st Street Coffee Roasters, The Hub for shopping, Corky’s pub for green beer, Temple Park for the Belton Lake Beach and we really wanted to hit the Last Picture Show Drive In movie theater but ran out of time. Next time! Vicki is a very responsive, great host!

Excellent stay!
Clean, comfortable, updated and great views! We had 7 adults stay for a ladies night getaway and we loved this house! It comfortably sleeps 6 in beds, but has plenty of room for a couple of air mattresses if needed. The kitchen is well-stocked with all of the necessities and has high-end appliances. The host was WONDERFUL with communication and sent out detailed information prior to our stay. This house has the most beautiful lake-front view off the back porch. The property can be a tad tricky to find, but the host sent out excellent directions ahead of time. Don't let the adjacent properties and dirt road fool you; this is a GREAT place for a quiet getaway! We're hoping to stay here again in the future!

Amazing Intimate Wedding Experience!
Victoria & her team were great hosts and have an amazing property. We are fortunate to have found this gem to do our intimate wedding ceremony. The hosts were great at communication, especially regarding directions to the remote location. The house and views were perfect for our special day. Our only complaints are the next door neighbors felt very close (which can’t be controlled) and the chickens wandering into the property made for some extra wedding guests! The layout is a little odd and some things like the kitchen faucet could be fixed, but other than that the decor is beautiful and it was a great experience. Thanks again for letting us have our special day there!!

Unknown secret in hill country
We did a last-minute reservation for this property last weekend. The property was represented exactly how it is on VRBO including view and sunsets. We had everything we needed and a lot more than we expected. The home is beautifully decorated, including the outdoor patio which has a pergola, grill, and fire place. Every detail is just well done. The owner is communicative and is very well organized. We loved our short stay!

Best sunset views
We had a wonderful stay and would return again. The property was perfect for everyone from the great patio area to the garage of activities for the kids. Beautiful sunsets from the patio and an outdoor fireplace made this one of our favorite Vrbo rentals. The house was very clean and the owner was great at answering our questions. Super hosts!

Family Thanksgiving
We needed a place for family from Austin to meet us 1/2 way for Thanksgiving. This house worked perfectly. The view of the lake was very peaceful and we enjoyed sitting outside by the fireplace. It was nice quiet and scenic. We had so much fun. We went fishing, cooked on the grill, played games and played pool in the game room. They have everything you need including games, movies and fully stock kitchen.

Owl Creek Hideway did not disappoint!
Property was immaculate! The decor and furniture so nice! Comfortable beds, perfect for adults and the kids. The back porch was my favorite place! Gorgeous view. My family also enjoyed playing pool in the garage. The property owners were very nice and responsive. The house is difficult to find, I think a map would be helpful since it’s located back off the main road, behind trees and other houses. Overall, we all enjoyed our stay very much!
