Disaster Stay – No Check-In Info, No Power, No Refund
Unfortunately, our experience was a disaster from start to finish. We received no check-in info prior to arrival and couldn’t reach the host despite multiple calls and messages. We had to find a hotel at midnight. The next day, we finally got a response and were promised a refund for the first night. When we arrived at the Airstream, it was far from “brand new.” There was no running water or power to any of the plugs. I had to rig a hose myself just to get water. After one toilet flush, the smell was unbearable, and the Airstream had to be aired out. The hot water heater didn’t work, so no hot showers. Outdoor lights didn’t work due to the power issue, and the awning collapsed when we tried to use it—blocking the door from opening fully. At that point, we left and checked into a hotel (which was wonderful and cheaper). Since then, the host has gone silent, and the promised refund never came. VRBO says it’s up to the owner for any refunds. Absolutely unacceptable. Stay far away.
