Although the room itself was very nice, other amenities and hotel reception were not up to the expected standard for the price we paid.
For example;
The elevators were flooded and therefore mostly out of order on our first day, while we completely understand this is out of their control, the response and the way this was handled was quite disappointing. When we needed help with our room they refused to send someone up because of the elevators (we were on the 6th floor and routinely used the stairs). The stairs themselves were dark, confusing to navigate and the doors would not open from within the stairwell.
We were not informed that the spa was out of order our whole stay for PLANNED maintenance (in winter).
Not all the lights in our room worked, the internet on the TV would not connect and we received a very slow response to this.
Because we booked through a third party, the hotel was very resistant to help us with any issues - and outright refused to hold our bags in their designated bag room. We understand that this isn’t this companies fault but the reception was very rude and not willing to help third party bookings and seemed upset that we had used the third party at all.
