Thank you for your response. I don't understand what you mean by 'the most expensive nights sleep'? Our private cabins with outside showers are $82 p/night and have their own coffee, tea, kettle, stove and fridge. Our other rooms have private undercover en-suite bathrooms. You were advised that we do not have a restaurant on site prior to arrival and we do provide rain water for our guests to drink. Water in all our kitchens is drinking water, and their are signs everywhere stating that. Most restaurants out of town do not open after 5pm, yet we have one within 10kms of our farm that was open from 6am - 9pm. We are a working farm offering guests a unique experience in the bush with an abundance of wild animals. Sorry we did not meet your expectations. Kind regards, Kyra

We are sorry this is how you experienced your stay. As mentioned at first contact when booking we are a fully working farm (you booked a farm stay), there is no 24 hour reception and the farm house is private. The key had worked every day until you arrived and we got the lock fixed the next day by fully replacing the handle so we have new keys available. You found someone who tried to help but there was obviously something wrong with the lock. We are not lock smith but 3 people tried to assist. Our phone reception at this end of the island is not always perfect so I did not receive your message for a little while but as soon as I spoke to you send staff to help you and as soon as that didn’t work, I came over myself. We are family operated and it was very late, so no way to call anyone to help out in the remote area where we live. 100km away from a lock Smith, away from a builder, from a hardware store. I just mentioned that it was not as easy as in the city to get something replace right at that minute as it was the end of the day. All rooms were fully booked otherwise we could’ve moved you free of charge into another one but I can’t move other people. It was bad luck and out of our control. I offered a full refund as that was all I could do but you did not accept it and said it was fine to stay. As we had no other options, i offered either refund or staying without key, there was nothing else we could have done and i apologise but that was out of my control. I fixed the lock the next day when I purchased a new handle. The other available rooms are dorm rooms and due to council fire regulations we are not allowed to have door handles with locks on them. That was all I mentioned as I ran out of options to explain to you that we are fully booked. I am sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay, I apologise for the lock issue

Dear Mike, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am sorry you didn't enjoy the stay as much as we would have liked you to even though we have pointed out the heater instructions and put an extra blanket in the cabin for you especially as the weather was cold. One of our staff even gave you his heater out of his room so you could be warm. We are a fully working farm so staff is not always around, which we mention in our hotel description but we were there to talk to in the morning if there were any needs (tea towels) or questions. The communal kitchen gets used by a number of people therefor a dirty or wet tea towel might have often been used just previously by another guest and not been washed or replaced before I make my rounds. I apologise if it wasn't up to the standard you expected. We are definitely not a standard city motel, but people come and stay to enjoy the wildlife and serenity of the place as much as we do.
