“Staying on db&b basis for one night to break a journey, my expectations were not high. However I was wrong! The very ancient pub is just by the Abbey and it is welcoming and our room was very clean if a bit dated. Bath & shower worked well (loads of VERY hot water!) and the bed was comfy. Electrical points in odd spots, but probably practicalities dictated. Dinner was a restricted choice from the full menu but cooking and ingredients of real quality. Very good french onion soup: obviously home...

Breakfast room was very elegant and the breakfast served was both plentiful and delicious. Loved spending time in this characterful, historic property ideally placed for visiting the main attractions Tewkesbury has to offer.”

The hotel is formed of 2 buildings, both with parking, sharing the outdoor facilities. Breakfast and dinner in the hotel were both nice and tasty, served by attentive staff. The hotel is close to the cathedral, the Worcester porcelain museum and other historical properties. A walk on the Severn banks is also recommended.”
