We stayed for 9 nights at La Villa del Ensueno, against all odds we were pleasantly surprised with this charming hotel which is walking distance to Tlaquepaque. Yes, this Hotel shows its age but it's still well looked after.
+ location is key, it is walking distance to Tlaquepaque
+ spacious, comfortable rooms with lots of mexican flair. we had a junior suite which had its own private sun deck which was awesome to relax in the sun
+ breakfast was inclusive which was cooked fresh to order and came with fresh juice, coffee, yoghurt & fruits and one could order from an extensive breakfast menu. Both server were super friendly, attentive and very accommodating.
+ the hotel is beautiful, its colourful, lots of plants and very quiet. Its a peaceful oasis away from sometimes loud Mexico
+housekeeping did an awesome job on a daily basis cleaning the room
+other reviews mentioned bugs, in all of our 9 nights stay we did not seen one single bug inside the room
+rooms had AC, good size fridge and safety locker and TV
this is now where i usually list the negative aspects of a hotel, but too be honest, i couldn't really find any. Yes, sure the pool was cool & shady and the jacuzzi was rather cold is well but it is January !!! if I wanted to spend excess amount of time at a pool i go to Puerta Vallarta.
in summary, we had a very lovely stay at the Villa del Ensueno and would defiantly stay there again if our traveling would bring us back to Guadalajara.
