Terrible hotel, first room the shower was over the toilet and we were woken up both mornings at 7 am by the cleaners screaming. We then moved rooms which was infested with cockroaches!

Good breakfast, location a little bit of walking to the main attractions, most rooms without the window. The pictures showed on the website it’s for Deluxe room only and ít cost $10.- US dollars more. It’s very small hotel

Staff were excellent; really friendly and helpful particularly killi and lilli who both went out of their way to help with organising trips, taxis etc. The location of the hotel is within easy walking distance of all parts of the old quarter with many restaurants and cafes on the doorstep. The beds were comfortable with daily cleaning although rooms could benefit from some decoration and more powerful shower would be an improvement. We stayed for 2 weeks and were more than happy overall but would suggest the larger rooms for long stay. Would recommend balcony room. Many thanks to all staff for wonderful holiday. Would definitely stay again.

Toilet fittings are so worn barely working, room is not secured have a sliding window that opens to a walkway and cannot be locked. Yes people can actually climb into your rm. The walkway is lighted in the evening and yes your rm also gets lighted.

Small but very clean and convenient!
For my room, it was great. But my sister and cousin had to walk up stairs, I guess it was fine but still, a little tiring after a journey, the staff had been really helpful and friendly though.

Not bad hotel, the equipment can be better because we shift rooms to get the air con fix and also for the shower heater, it either very hot or very cold. Will be appreciate if they can be balance.

The only comment I have is - if selling a room with no window I would recommend that it be mentioned at the time of booking and that the room may be a little cheaper then a room with a window.

Extremely value for money
Had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and was treated with extremely polite and helpful hotel staff especially Kili. She helped me arrange for a tour to Halong Bay, Ninh Binh and shuttle bus from SaPa at a very reasonable price and even offered for me to use the hotel amenities after my checkout before my departure to SaPa. The hotel is strategically located, with many good food places in the vicinity. Pho, Bun Cha, Bun Bo Nam Bo are some to mention. Hoan Kiem lake is within 10min walk but there's so many things to see along the streets such that time will pass in a flash. Room is really clean, towels are folded nicely into the shape of a swan.

Wonderful hotel!
Clean, friendly staff, great breakfast and the bed was soooo comfortable! We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer. The location is in the old quarter so it’s close to lots of bars and restaurants. We would 100% recommend this hotel :)

Highly recommended for couple
Room in perfect condition - new and clean. Street view room is nice - you could see the busy street but can't hear it! Friendly and helpful staffs. Very good location - in 10 mins walk to old quarter, beer street, night market, Hoan Kiem Lake etc.

Unfortunately the first room we were given was extremely damp with mould on one part of the wall. The staff were kind to swap us rooms which was also damp but we tried it for one night. The next day the bed and all our clothes were damp so we left our booking early. The staff were so helpful throughout but there were no upgrade rooms available. It may have been the time of year with the rain. They were kind in giving us a refund for one of the nights.

Lovely gem of a hotel, amazing service and room!
My wife and I stayed at the Sapa Dragon Hotel for 4 nights during November and absolutely loved it! From the moment we stepped out of the car we were treated like the most honored guests by Anh (hotel manager) and his whole staff. Although it was about 730am, since we took the overnight train from Hanoi, he offered us an early check-in free of charge, which was really nice. We were each given a cup of the most delicious cinnamon tea and ate breakfast at the onsite restaurant, delicious beef pho. Anh arranged a great tour for us that day visiting Mount Fansipan, the tallest mountain in Vietnam, and two beautiful waterfalls. The hotel also arranged two other great trekking tours and guides for us during our stay there, as well as a wonderful spa day. The facilities are really nice, very spacious and comfortable room + bed, and the complementary breakfast is fantastic. The restaurant at the hotel is really good and we ate about half of our meals during our time in Sapa there. We had such a great time in Sapa and the Sapa Dragon hotel, one of the best value hotels I've ever stayed at. I'd recommend both to anyone planning a visit to Vietnam.

Top service at this boutique hotel; great location
My wife and I had a wonderful 5 night stay at the Hanoi Avatar hotel. Location is fantastic, in the old quarter and really close to a lot of good restaurants, shops and about 10 minutes to the lake. The room itself was really nice, very clean with stylish but traditional decor. What really stood out the most to us was the great service here. From the moment we arrived we were treated as honored guests beginning with being given a complementary refreshment. The service director Tam gave us a great and thorough overview of the local area and helped to arrange a really nice your to Nin Binh. Tam and her whole team were not only helpful, but genuine and friendly throughout the visit. They really made this hotel a standout among all the places my wife and I have stayed. Breakfast is also quite good, with a small buffet that included many choices of fresh fruit as well as making eggs to order. All in all, Hanoi Avatar is a great place to stay for those looking to visit Hanoi.

Nice Staff but Poor Condition
Staff were incredibly nice and warm. However, the room was very small, makes you feel claustrophobic. The furniture is very run down, the bathroom's shower tile is also a bit run down. You can see that there's probably internal water damage. It was best to just not observe the room too much because there will be unpleasantness. I would not recommend this hotel based on its comfort level.

Overbooked and had to change hotels
My boyfriend and I arranged a car to come pick us up at the airport. The car never came. Turned out they didn't have our booking and the lady at the desk told us to look elsewhere even after I showed her my booking reservation. The hotel switched owners and the bookings made with the previous owner hadn't been communicated to the new owner. They finally realized their mistake but they had overbooked and we had to change to the Eternity hotel for a few nights. Very frustrating especially because the water didn't work in our room! However when we returned to the Avatar hotel the staff was nice. But it got noisy very early in the morning from the lobby (we were on the 3rd floor) and had to tell the cleaning staff to tone it down. Overall good and bad.

Nice little 3 star hotel on a busy Street in the old town. The first moring I was woken at 6 am by staff on the corridor doing some cleaning and loudly awoken at 7am by several staff chatting loudly and had to ask them to please keep the noise down.Having had a broken nights sleep reception then called to ask why I want at breakfast!! Thankfully the next 2 nights were much better. It states on the website that there's an iron and board but the iron was badly damaged and smoked when plugged in.

This hotel is right in the center of it all! Suberb location, wonderful staff, a good buffet breakfast (only a handful of choices for vegetarians/vegans though). If you can, book a room with a balcony: that traffic going on down the street is fun to watch!

중간숙박으로 2박으로 잡았는데 엄청좋았어요 화장실도 괜찮고 샤워하는데도 불편함은 없었습니다. 이불하고 침대도 편했고 소음도 없었어요. 다만 엘베가 없어서 힘들지 그외는 전반적으로는 만족하며 지내다 왔습니다.
