“Well located a few minutes walk from the city centre. Immaculate room.”

“Slightly hidden reception area but a well located hotel. Traditional ‘style’ hotel that’s had a refurb. Nice bed, spacious room with a big bathroom. Very helpful staff on reception who went out of their way to help. Lots of choice at breakfast (which was reasonably priced).”

“Had to cancel our trip due to a medical emergency and flight cancellation. Contacted all hotels we had booked—five refunded us without issue. Even Ryanair did. Cairn Hotel was the only one that flat-out refused, no empathy, no flexibility, not even a partial credit. I explained everything, even pleaded—but they just hid behind their “policy.” I could’ve paid more for the flexible rate, but budget was tight. Shame, because we were really looking forward to staying. Very disappointing experience.”

“The Old Swan is a beautiful old world hotel from the bygone days when they knew how to do it. Staff were well presented and helpful. The bar extremely comfortable. The room clean and warm. It's close to the centre of Harrogate, where there are plenty of restaurants and bars, though the food in the hotel is excellent. Plenty of parking. It's always an enjoyable stay, which is why I return again and again.”
