Beautiful cottage , well.presented with lovely touches , hosts warm and very welcoming went above and beyond to make our stay special . Situated in a lovely quiet location with stunning views. We had a wonderful holiday here .

Lovely cottage in a peaceful, beautiful area
We had a wonderful stay. The cottage is the perfect size for a family with a lovely private garden. We loved the area - beautiful scenery and not busy even in the middle of summer. Great beaches close by and the owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful.

Perfection
Beautiful attention to detail in the thatched cottage. Caring, thoughtful hosts. The best ever. Really looked after us. Tranquil. Stunning area in which to run, swim, walk, drink and eat. Everything on your doorstep.

Lovely
The cottage was just right for us and the garden a bonus - we were lucky with the weather. Wonderful hosts who were interesting to talk to and easily contactable if needed. We were delighted to find lots of free range eggs and tomatoes left for us when we arrived plus a delicious cake. We enjoyed meeting the happy looking hens and seeing where the produce was grown. Wonderful relaxing calm perfect hosts friendly kind and nothing is too much trouble
Loved our stay the cottage, the garden, enjoyed the cows over the garden wall and chickens too, it was lovely to “BE” in the countryside of Cornwall. Close enough to get to many beautiful places if wanted to leave the peacefulness of the cottage garden. The hosts were really special people who were willing to share their “Good Life” with us - including buckets and spades. Rooms were spacious all lovely, some lovely nooks and crannies and interesting books to look at too - time allowing. We will definitely be going back to enjoy more freshly grown tomatoes, cucumber, delicious blackcurrant jam and chocolate cup cakes - oh and fresh eggs from the 6 girls (chickens). Beautiful cottage
We really enjoyed our stay at Myrtle cottage, lovely location. The owners Barbara and Maurice were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed fresh eggs from the chickens and homemade carrot cake. Will definitely be going again.

A lovely cottage in a quiet location, with all the amenities you need. A warm welcome and added extras - delicious cake and eggs. It was hard to leave and go back home! Thank you Maurice & Barbara we really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful cottage and location
We thoroughly enjoyed our week in the cottage. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable, with a lovely garden. The location is great, close to a fantastic village pub, lovely coastal walks, and short drive to awesome beaches. The owners are also a delight, and very helpful.

Very enjoyable fortnight
The property is comfortable, with a pretty garden and well located. The village shop at Mawgam is a veritable Tardis and we never needed to go to a supermarket throughout our two week stay. Maurice and Barbara who live on site next door do not intrude but are available to give advice or simply pass a few informal minutes. We were plied with fresh vegetables, cake and even a cream tea. They could not have done more to make our stay a success. There are many wonderful coastal spots around the Lizard but for us the highlights were Porthallow, Kynance Cove and Penrose.

Wonderful week!
We had a wonderful week staying at Myrtle Cottage, it's a perfect base to explore the Lizard. We were treated with flowers in the rooms, home made cake and jam and eggs from their chickens. The owners are lovely and really helpful. We booked a day kayaking from St Anthony on their recommendation and had a fantastic day kayaking from their to Helford with our children. We hope to be back!

Wonderful cottage
We had a fantastic, relaxing stay. Had the best weather, so spent most of the time either in the very pretty garden or out walking the many picturesque footpaths around the local area. Couldn't have been happier with our stay. Cottage is very quaint and extraordinarily well equipped (the best I've been to) and Maurice and Barbara very friendly and accommodating. Also Barbara makes THE BEST carrot cake! An absolute gem - we'll be back!

Perfect peaceful retreat
This cute cottage was in a great location for walking from the front door and exploring beautiful parts of The Lizard. The owners are lovely and very helpful, but leave you to it. The extras- homemade carrot cake, eggs, milk etc are a very welcome touch and make The cottage feel like home as soon as you arrive. This is one holiday cottage we intend to come back to- so much more to do!

Lovely cottage and garden in quiet location
We had a lovely stay in Myrtle Cottage. The accommodation was clean and well-aired on our arrival. Fresh flowers throughout the house were a lovely touch and we enjoyed all the treats that were left for us: eggs from the chickens, home-made cake and jam and fresh raspberries. The garden is a lovely peaceful place to sit and relax and the house is very comfortable.

Exceeded expectations
Myrtle Cottage and the friendliness of Maurice and Barbara exceeded our expectations. The photos do not do the property justice! It was very well equipped, cosy and comfortable. We had the most wonderful week here and would definitely recommend this beautiful property.

Wunderschöne Ferien durften wir erleben. Dazu trug vor allem das Haus bei, welches sehr gut eingerichtet, sauber und herrlich gemütlich war. Die Gastgeber trugen ihren Anteil dazu bei, dass wir uns rundherum wohl fühlten.

A wonderful stay in a lovely old thatched cottage with a beautiful tranquil garden
The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful, especially as I was travelling alone. There was a lovely welcome package of food and I was offered beans picked fresh from the garden. Eggs from the chickens was a lovely touch. A great base for exploring Cornwall with lots of walks nearby. My pushbike was stored in their garage each day and lots of room for car parking. There is a great selection of books in the lounge. The bed was very comfortable. It is nicely furnished throughout. The kitchen is (as advertised) very small like a galley but is very well equipped. There is a good sized dining room to eat in. Myrtle Cottage really is one of those places that you are reluctant to leave at the end of your holiday. A place I would certainly like to come back to stay in. The Helford River area is exceptionally beautiful and peaceful and Myrtle Cottage is a perfectly lovely and engaging base. Karen.

The best holiday cottage we’ve stayed
This is more than a holiday cottage can offer. The cottage itself has full of characters and very well maintained, the bedrooms and bathroom are spacious, all beds are so comfortable and clean, the garden is beautiful too. More importantly, the owners (Barbara & Maurice) made us so welcoming, we had yummy home made cake, eggs and jam on arrival, fresh flowers on every room, this is definitely the best holiday cottage we’ve stayed.

Little bit of heaven
Arrived opened the door and felt at home straight away, really lovely cottage decorated & furnished well the garden is quiet and pretty two nice bedrooms nothing else we needed a scrummy chocolate cake fresh eggs were also left for us thank you Barbara, would we recommend YES points out of 10 we voted 11+ do we look at returning yes we didn't get round to half the visits on our list both Maurice and Barbara made us feel like we were visiting friends. Then we saw Maurices leather belts and bags hand made of beautiful leather just waiting for my order to arrive.

Lovely cosy cottage in an ideal spot for walking or touring the Lizard area. The welcome food of eggs, milk, homemade jam and cake, plus flowers in every room were an extra bonus. Definitely a place to return to.

Lovely little Cornish cottage
Spent a lovely week at this little Cornish cottage. The weather was lovely and spent some time sunbathing in the lovely garden. I kept bumping my head on the lower 'beams' but got used to that and it all added to the really enjoyable stay. The owners/hosts were very kind, providing assistance and lovely cake, eggs and jam. Yummy. Thanks ever so much.

Fantastic stay!
Beautiful cottage, well equipped with everything you should need. Fresh flowers in every room, milk in fridge all ready for the much needed cup of tea. Freshly baked cup cakes, absolutely fantastic. Maurice and Barbara are such lovely people, very welcoming. Barbara delivered freshly picked raspberries the following morning, I have to say they were delicious. The area is beautiful. So many nice areas to visit, beautiful coves to explore. No need to venture far at all. It was like home from hone, with Twig the cat, Merlin the dog and the escaping chicken who all paid us a visit every morning. I would highly recommend this cottage and area to anyone.

PERFECT IN EVERY WAY
Had a 2 week stay and was made to feel so welcome. We honestly can't say a big enough thank you to our lovely hosts. Had absolutely everything you would need for a comfortable break. We arrived to fresh flowers in every room. Fresh eggs and raspberries from the garden in the kitchen along with a delicious cake which Barbra had made & milk in the fridge. The cuboards had lots of esentials as well which was great if you forgot somthing from the shops. We just replaced anything we used. The cottage was clean and very quite. Maurise was fantastic and makes some amazing leather bags!!!! Will definitely be back again i just hope there is availability when we would like to book. 10 out of 10

Charming and comfortable cottage in beautiful location!
We have just returned after spending a week in this beautiful and comfortable cottage! The cottage has everything that one could wish for in a wonderful location! There were fresh flowers in every room, fresh eggs and some delicious home made cakes waiting for us! Myrtle cottage is delightful and we really hope to return sometime in the future!

A perfect holiday
We've stayed at this cottage several times previously and once again it did not disappoint. The owners are most welcoming, providing little extras such as flowers in every room and 'goodies' on arrival. For a peaceful, restful break we would highly recommend a stay here. We travelled very little distance to find really good food. We particularly enjoyed the seafood at The Shipwright's Arms in Helford and South in Manaccan as well as a traditional Sunday lunch at the New Inn.
