The owner told us a power outage a few days ago wiped out his key card machine, so he couldn't give us keys because replacement was still on order, that we'd have to just find him and he'd let us in to our room. Don't really understand how temporarily losing power destroys a machine like that, I hope its legitimately short term but just started off the experience creepy wondering if he's one of those nosy micromanaging owners who wants to spy on everyone etc. The...

“The motel was a good location. 5 mins away from Hearst Castle. It looked like it was semi remodeled recently but it was cheaply done as you could see holes/patches. The bed was moderately comfortable not to firm but not as soft as I personally prefer. Bathroom cramped and they didnt have body wash only tiny soap bars that broke apart easily. No one answers the phone so the 3 things I needed help with I had to go out my room and go get myself, was not happy about that. Never got the room cleaned...
