Lost Horizon è stato un rifugio per la luna di miele, una destinazione per le feste in famiglia, una vacanza con la fidanzata e un nascondiglio per la pesca / la bicicletta per gli amanti della vita all'aria aperta. Gli escursionisti, i ciclisti e gli sciatori di fondo amano la New River Trail 57 miglia a pochi passi da Lost Horizon. Se ti piace guardare uccelli, cervi e una foresta piena di altri animali ... siediti su uno dei portici o dei ponti di Lost Horizon - e non dimenticare la tua macchina fotografica.

Unisciti a loro o osserva i pescatori lungo il litorale dal tuo rifugio privato sopra il lago.
Scendi sull'ampio ponte per un giorno al sole o fai una cena sul lago, dai da mangiare alle anatre o dai pesci dal molo. Avrai una buca per il fuoco proprio sul lago per arrostire i marshmallow. Gioca una partita a ferri di cavallo e dondola sull'altalena di corda. Due canoe, remi e giubbotti di salvataggio sono forniti per uso esclusivo; portare galleggianti o barche per un maggiore divertimento in acqua.

Non perdere l'alba e i tramonti sull'acqua ... sono magnifici! I temporali sono persino meravigliosi qui! Ascolta la pioggia che batte sul tetto di lamiera durante un acquazzone dal portico coperto, oppure rilassati nelle fresche notti autunnali circondate dal fogliame autunnale; ascolta il silenzio di una nevicata in montagna. Accendi un fuoco o accendi i gas nel camino e rilassati per rilassarti nei caldi ambienti.

Lost Horizon può ospitare fino a otto persone.
L'ultimo piano comprende una camera da letto; comodo divano futon completo; ponte posteriore privato sopra lo stagno, boschi e giardini fioriti; scaffali pieni di libri e un accogliente salotto con vista sul piano principale.
La master suite privata è deliziosamente intima al piano principale dove si trova una cucina completamente attrezzata, posti a sedere al bar, un piccolo tavolo da pranzo, un soggiorno con camino a gas e un bagno con vasca da bagno a piedini artiglio vecchio stile.

Al piano inferiore si trova un ampio bagno turco / doccia con panche (e 6 diversi soffioni), un bar, un comodo divano avvolgente e un futon completo. Le porte-finestre conducono al patio con un'altalena sospesa con vista sul lago.

Alcuni tesori nascosti a Lost Horizon: goditi una biblioteca di DVD e libri (incluso "Lost Horizon"). Ci sono giochi per famiglie e un libro degli ospiti per condividere le tue esperienze e leggere le avventure di coloro che ti hanno preceduto.
I tramonti dal ponte o giù al molo ti toglieranno il respiro. Sdraiati sulle sedie a sdraio e guarda in alto; probabilmente vedrai le aquile volare in alto sopra gli alberi durante il giorno e le stelle sono brillanti nelle serate limpide a Lost Horizon.

Our winter weekend at Lost Horizon was perfect. The home is a gem inside and out with so many gathering spaces, amazing views, as well as privacy. We enjoyed the gas fireplace, cooking in the well-equipped kitchen and sleeping in the comfy beds. The owner has an amazing collection of books displayed throughout her beautifully decorated home. We did not want to leave! Also, the owner, Debbie, was very helpful and easy to communicate with. We never got to try the steam room, but there will definitely be a next time.

We enjoyed our weekend at the cabin so much. Our son is a student at Virginia Tech and we were able to visit with him and enjoy the football game. It’s about 45 minutes to campus. We also hiked Dragon’s Tooth which is a great (yet strenuous) hike, about an hour away. We traveled with another couple and the cabin was perfect for the four of us. The cabin was clean, well stocked and very comfortable. The host’s attention to detail was very appreciated. We hope to stay here again in the future.

This was an absolutely amazing trip! The views were wonderful and the home was fantastic. The attention to every detail was great. Very clean and nothing was overlooked - even the fall decorations were PERFECT. What an incredible week of rest and re-energizing spent at this cabin! Although our game plan was to spend the week on our bikes exploring the New River and Creeper Trails, we felt almost hesitant to leave our "new home"! The cabin feels very much like "your home", it is very well decorated, and super inviting! Whether you are preparing dinner in the abundant kitchen, or sipping coffee on one of many decks, or enjoying a campfire out back as the sunsets.. you will feel like you are "home"!! We absolutely loved our week here, and can't wait to come back and bring our friends to share the experience! Even a rain day spent in the big rocking chairs on the side deck feels like a highlight!!! Thank you Debbie for sharing your home with us!!!

This was our second time visiting Lost Horizon, and we absolutely loved our stay. The views are amazing! We kayaked, biked, relaxed by the water and on huge deck over looking the water. The house was decorated for autumn and had everything we needed for a great fall weekend. Deck table with gas firepit was awesome. Debbie was great! We appreciate her sharing such a nice cabin.

We had a great 3 night visit in October. The cabin is lovely, especially the wonderful river views. We enjoyed a lot of time outside on the deck, hiked a bit of the New River Trail, played a round of golf in Redford and visited The Draper Mercantile. We went down to the river and tried out the kayaks too. It was relaxing and fun.

We really enjoyed staying at Lost Horizon. It was perfect for our time together as a family. The house was awesome and we loved it. The setting is the best. We really enjoyed going down to the dock and taking the canoe out several times. It was the perfect getaway for family time.

We love Lost Horizon! This was our 3rd time staying here and the cabin is just perfect. We used the fire pit to roast S’mores, and the charcoal grill for burgers & hot dogs! The kayak and canoe got a lot of use and we brought our fishing polls to fish off the dock!

My family had a stay at the cabin for the 4th of July. The cabin was great. Stocked with everything you need. You do need to drive down to the dock, but it's super close (like 2 minutes). The dock area is fantastic and we spent many hours out there playing in the water. Cabin is beautiful. Fish pond outside was a huge hit with my 8 year old. Overall a fantastic place and we can't wait to come back.

Totally enjoyed the property - beautiful house and views with great amenities. Only down side was the 10 AM check out time and everything you had to do to prepare for the cleaners. Was given some extra time but still stressful. Couldn’t really enjoy the last night fully. A 12:00 PM Check out time seems much more reasonable considering the price of the rental. Like I said a lot of prep work before the cleaners get there - they surely could get the place ready in 3 hours for next guests to check in at 4:00, unless perhaps it’s a one person cleaning crew and even then…

The house is located on a steep hill, but once you get up to the top it is well worth it. The cabin is well maintained and beautifully landscaped. We rode our bikes on the New River trail, which is very close to the house. I would recommend driving to the trail since the bike ride home up the mountain is difficult on a bike. It is a very peaceful and relaxing place to visit.

As we arrived at the property around 6 pm to begin our stay, the host notified us that there would be a “possible power outage”all day Saturday. In fact, power was out all day Saturday. He home is on a well, So no showers, no lights, no toilets, no cofee etc. I checked the power company website and it indicated that the power outage was a scheduled and definite occurrence. The owner had advanced notice of this but waited till I arrived before telling us. We were only staying for the weekend. There was no offer of a credit for the day. Only an offer to extend my stay for a day. Unhelpful as we needed to return to work the next business day. The owner repeatedly stated it was beyond her control and spoke very defensively. I have concluded that she was being disingenuous with us and made a decision to tell us about the outage after we arrived and were committed to staying there. She had advance notice from the power company. If she missed the notification, she could have made it right by offering us a credit. When she did notify us it was characterized only as a “possible outage”. This was very different from the description on the power company website. Disingenuous of the owner at best.

This is a beautiful cabin with amazing views, sunsets and everything you need to enjoy your stay. It was very clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated. The host does a wonderful job of making you feel welcome and comfortable during your stay. We had a wonderful time and look forward to visiting again. Highly recommend.

Debbie's place is about as perfect as you can get if you're looking to get into some place in the country. Plenty of space in the house for a family to be comfortable, and lots of outdoor activities close by. And Debbie is an amazing host...very responsive, super accommodating, and very knowledgeable about the area!

We rented this cabin during a visit with our son who attends Virginia Tech. The cabin was perfect and we would certainly like to stay there again sometime. The view from the deck is just stunning; we wish we had better weather to say outside and soak it all in. We highly recommend this cabin.

This is our second time at Lost Horizon. We enjoyed it like last time in 2020 for my husband's birthday. This time we stayed for 4 nights for my daughter's 14th bday. She was thrilled because Debbie hung a banner for her. We did not spend a lot of time in the cabin this time because we explored the area. It's because her place even though hidden and nestled at the top, is close to a lot of stuff. We rented a boat for a day at Mountain 2 Island so the kids can tube. We also went to the Petting zoo/safari and had a lot of fun. We also fished at the dock (Flamingo Cantina) once a day. The first afternoon during our stay, we caught a decent size catfish again and a bunch of little fish. We know the kids will be bored when my husband and I are fishing, so they brought the dominos from the cabin and they also brought their own books to read. My son also enjoyed playing with a lizard again. We also caught a glimpse of two turkeys running as we are driving up one afternoon. As usual, the view at the Lost Horizon is so awesome and very relaxing. Just sitting by the deck while drinking coffee, watching fishing boats pass by, and staring at and listening to the beautiful sound and scenery, makes the 4-hour trip worthwhile. Thanks again for a great vacation at Lost Horizon.
