“Historical motel with a good description but the location is not close to the restaurant and supermarket. Good to stay for a night for a drive break on road trip.”

“Literally the cleanest room I’ve ever stayed in…and my expectations are sky high! Place looked and felt brand new. No wall scuffs, no nasty grout, no warn carpet. It was adorable! Location was great too. Easy parking and just a short walk to the beach and the restaurants in town.”

“Unbelievably very warm room, even though outside was really cold during the rain in the winter. Spacious size, comfortable for us to stay (my husband and I with our 2 little children). The unit was very clean, the only thing to note was that there wasn't anyone on the reception desk, so we had to wait around 10minutes outside. But overall, the experience is pretty good, near the cafes, and an affordable room.”

“WARNING: only hotel in the world with a 16:00 check in. If you can’t be bothered to staff the hotel at least leave a key box like every other hotel. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to waste waiting for 16:00 so checked into the Beachfront hotel in town for the same price and standard check in. ”

“Un classico motel neozelandese, pulitissimo, con cucina, bollitore, tostapane caffè e te un bagno dotato di tutto. Leggermente caro per il posto”

“Abbiamo trascorso 2 notti nella struttura, il personale è stato gentile e premuroso (ci hano oferto il latte per la colazione...salvo poi accorgerci che era scaduto!!). La camera era un miniappartamento, con cucina e stoviglie, pulito e ben tenuto. Seppur in fianco alla SH6 è silenzioso, ha il posto macchina di fronte alla camera, ha la lavanderia e anche l'accesso al Mar di Tasmania...comodo nella giusta stagione!”

“Hello we book for 2 days, we knew we were staying in a basic room but were never told that it was packed with children rugby players waking us up at 5 am bouncing balls continually. Let alone the toilets trashed. We had to use. Our duvet on our bed had had a dog sleep on it and definitely not washed, Top 10 (NO WAY) Very expensive for pitifully looked after”

“Staff were fantastic. Able to check in early. There was a power outage and they came around to check if I was ok and loaned me a torch.”

“There was parking outside every unit for 1 vehicle. The rooms were fresh and provided the needed towels and blankets. Extra pillows and blankets in the room too. The owner Simon went above and beyond when we arrived, during a power cut (Narly storm chased us into Hokitika). He made sure we knew what was open for food and that we had a candle for a room until the power came back on.”

“I am a carpenter and a painter so I really notice when any room I’m in needs attention. The room we stayed in was very clean, tidy and well decorated. The only thing I would suggest is a decent sharp knife and bread knife. Thanks for the great stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again or recommend to anyone.”
