Welcome to the Heart of the Art Coast!
Lake Effect Lodge is located in the scenic and charming Laketown Township. This area is in the heart of the fruit belt of Michigan and holds the third-highest spot for agriculture production in the entire country! Bring those apple and berry pickin' fingers — you're going to need ‘em! Also, if you didn't already know, Michigan is a HUGE beer-loving state. There are over 10 breweries in the surrounding areas and our sandy soil and close proximity to the lake makes for the perfect hops-growing conditions!
A short drive will take you to the creative and cultural centers of Saugatuck & Douglas. Honored by Midwest Living Magazine as 2020’s Best Beach Town, Saugatuck satisfies everyone from young families to refined art collectors to pleasure-seeking party groups. There truly is something for everyone in this lively and thriving hub. Nearby sister city Douglas offers more of the same fun for all ages with a slightly more laid-back vibe.
Did I mention the beaches?!? Breathtaking Oval Beach is only a short drive away and Conde Nast Traveler has ranked it in the top 25 best shorelines in the world! That's right, the WORLD! Get active at nearby state parks, take advantage of gorgeous hiking and biking trails and let adventurers try their luck climbing and running down majestic forested dunes lining the shoreline.

Enjoy the exclusive private road of homes, each secluded retreat separated by soft green acreage and towering mature trees. The entire back of the lodge opens to sunlight streaming through the beautiful forest right at your doorstep, giving you a picture-perfect moment from each of the home's many windows. The Lodge can sleep up to 12 of your nearest and dearest and is packed full of magnificent amenities; locally sourced coffee and tea, luxury bath products from Malin & Goetz, a wood-burning fireplace, recreation room, hot rock sauna, comfy bed and bath linens, and a fully equipped kitchen.
As locals, we can honestly say this is the spot to be! You can hop over to vibrant Downtown Saugatuck & Douglas, climb Mt. Baldhead, visit the various beaches, wineries, breweries, and orchards, take a dune ride, or simply relish quiet downtime at the Lodge, cozied up by the firepit with the starry night sky above!
The Main Level of the home has a Primary Suite with a King Bed, Ensuite Bathroom, and a Private Terrace with seating. A Queen Bedroom and Office also sit on this floor of the home. The lower level features a Recreation Room, Full Bathroom with a teak, hot rock sauna, a Queen Bedroom, and another Bedroom with a Full over Full Trundle Bunk Bed (better suited for children). The sectional also pulls out to a full bed. The sprawling lower level of the home has big, beautiful windows that look out to the woods from ground level, making this a very comfortable space for hangouts and sleeping accommodations.

Downtown South Haven and Holland are only a 20-minute drive away and offer a whole different vibe filled with other activities to explore!

Primary Reservation Holder must be above the age of 25
We love a gathering of loved ones but there are to be no events on property. If you’re a group that likes to play loud music into the wee hours of the night, this is not the property for you. Neighborhood quiet hours between 10pm-7am are strictly enforced.
The home can comfortably sleep 8 adults. The bunk bedroom is better suited for small humans due to the weight limits of the bunk bed/trundle. For our guests comfort and safety, we ask that you are not counting this space as an adult accommodation.
Have a Tesla and need a place to charge up? Lake Effect Lodge is equipped with a Tesla EV Charger in the garage!
We love our pets! We invite you to bring up to 2 doggies.
Our Pet Fee is $145 and will include a Pet Basket for you to use during your stay: Food and Water Bowls, Waste Bags, Lavender Pet Shampoo, Pet Stain Remover, Puppy Towel, and a little Treat :) Woof Woof!
