The Nest at The White Eagle
The Nest is a four-bedroom apartment above the well-known White Eagle pub in Rhoscolyn. It's pet-friendly, and the interior is showing some gentle wear in places, but the location does a lot of the talking, just a 10-minute walk (4-minute drive) to the beach and close to the coastal path and The White Arch (Bwa Gwyn). If you fancy eating out, the highly-rated White Eagle pub is right downstairs, serving good pub food and real ales.
A set of narrow steps inside the building takes you up to the first floor. Step through the door and you're straight into the kitchen-diner, it's a bit like a Tardis, with rooms leading off in every direction from there. There's a nook for coats and shoes as you come in. The kitchen is well equipped for family meals, beach picnics or evening dinners, with an island that works well for casual gatherings, and the dining area sits in a sunny alcove with room for eight.
The living room has two large sofas and two armchairs around a wood burner, good for cosy evenings, plus two Juliette balcony doors that bring in light and coastal views. A small utility cupboard and a cloakroom (toilet and sink) lead off the living room. From here you can also step out onto the patio, an enclosed spot that catches the sun nicely. There's a duct running down from the restaurant kitchen below, but it's tucked out of the way and doesn't intrude on the space. From the lounge you get sea views, and on one side, a look over The White Eagle's gardens.
There are four bedrooms in total, each with their own storage. Off the kitchen-diner are a super-king bedroom and a bunk bedroom, along with a family bathroom (stand-alone bath, walk-in shower, toilet, sink, heated towel rail). Off the living room are a twin bedroom (convertible to super-king) and a second super-king bedroom sharing the same coastal views as the living room, plus a second family bathroom (bath with shower over, sink, toilet, heated towel rail).
The Neighborhood:
Rhoscolyn (said: ross-KOL-in) sits between its busier neighbours, Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay. It's small, but rather mighty — the scenery never stops being magical, and there's always something new to find.
The main beach, Borthwen, is reached down a narrow lane with more bends than you'd think possible — great for swimming, sandcastles and rockpools, with rocky outcrops made for a game of hide and seek. On the way back up, call into Bodior Estate farm shop, or let The White Eagle do the cooking — decking with a view on warm days, a fire in the snugs when it's not. B Active Rhoscolyn run kayaking and coasteering for all levels, and the Anglesey Coastal Path runs straight through.
Don't miss Bwa Gwyn and Bwa Du, two dramatic sea-carved arches, or Rhoscolyn Lookout, one of the best vantage points on the coast.
Getting Around:
A peaceful, rural area — a car is essential. Free parking is available on-site. The closest shops and restaurants are in nearby Trearddur Bay or Valley, about 10 minutes away.
Other Things to Note:
An AHL Damage Waiver is included as standard with every booking. It’s there to protect the property and give you complete peace of mind, covering accidental damage up to £250, so that if something happens, it doesn’t cast a shadow over your stay.
Towels & Bedding: Linens and bath towels provided (please bring your own beach towels)

Mi è piaciuto: Check-in, comunicazione, posizione e accuratezza dell’annuncio
The property could do with a little refresh and tidy up on the balcony area. The location and views are fabulous.

The Nest in May
Absolutely loved our stay in The Nest at the White Eagle. This is our third year visiting. The only reason we have scored lower on condition and cleanliness is the roof terrace which consisted of a broken table, discarded parasol frame and scattered chairs all requiring a good clean so unfortunately we couldn’t sit out as we would have liked. The apartment was beautiful

A week away in January
We stayed for one week in January at the Nest. The property was a lovely place to explore the island.
We ate at the White Eagle and the food was lovely. We also had drinks in the bar most evenings and found all the staff and regular customers were very friendly and welcoing.

Strange layout
Nice clean well sited flat in old house converted to pub years ago. No mention of very steep access stairs with no proper handrail, one bathroom and one toilet open directly onto communal areas with embarrassing lack of privacy- important when fully occupied. Outdoor roof space next to kitchen vent pipe exits! Usual Anglesey sewage/drain/septic tank problems. Shower plumbing fittings and door could do with attention but that’s all the bad stuff. Would stay again but not with elderly people, only a couple or family due to bathroom /toilet problem mentioned.

Autumn Break
We really enjoyed our week at The Nest. The location is great, with plenty of nearby scenic walks and of course the lovely pub is only downstairs! The apartment is spacious and well equipped, but some of the furniture is looking tired and in need of refreshment (eg the sofas in lounge).

This apartment is absolutely gorgeous!
We had the most wonderful stay at ‘The Nest’. The apartment is absolutely gorgeous and has everything you need to be total luxury. Barbara was amazing in organising our booking, so a special thank you to her.
I would also like to thank the amazing cleaners who go that ‘extra mile’ to make the place ‘sparkle’!
Thank you and we will be back.

Excellent. Could be noisy early in the mornings with deliveries to the fantastic pub downstairs.
Looked forward all year to this apartment and was not disappointed. It was clean and tidy and the kitchen was well equipped. Had a fantastic stay.

Family 2 night holiday
The nest was a perfect choice for our family break. We were a party of 3 and all enjoyed having our own bedrooms with very comfortable superking beds. The accommodation worked brilliantly for us, lots of space and comfort. The kitchen was well equipped and have everything we needed including a lovely welcome bag. On arrival one of the bedrooms wasn't made up, but the staff at the White Eagle pub sorted that out for us, as one of their bar staff was also a housekeeper. The only negative is the roof terrace. On our arrival day it was very warm and the terrace was swarming with flies around the pub kitchen vents, which made it unpleasant to sit outside. The view from inside the lounge towards the beach was much better anyway! We would all recommend the nest as a place to stay, so long as you don't need outside space.

Little Gem
This is the second time I have stayed at the Nest, both have been for special occasions. The place is amazing, well maintained, comfortable, and definitely has a wow factor. The White eagle below also adds to the experience, where the staff are fantastic .

Fabulous, luxurious apartment above a great pub - what more could you want. And dog friendly too
Gorgeous views and plenty of room. Lovejoy furnishings but could just do with a little more storage in the bedrooms

Enjoyable stay at The Nest
We had a really enjoyable stay at “The Nest”, it is bright and spacious, and being above the White Eagle is a bonus. The staff in the white Eagle are all amazing, happy and friendly.
NOT a complaint, just a suggestion, the pillows were in need of replacement and the sofas/chairs in the living room needed a good clean, also, We were unable to sit out on the patio area because of the noise from the extractor fan, which was a shame.

Enjoyable stay
We had a lovely stay at The Nest with our friends and their family. The accommodation is very spacious, comfortable and well equipped.
Location is fab with amazing views of the coastline and the beach a couple of minutes walk away……with a great pub on your doorstep!
Some aspects that could be improved include:
Provision of wardrobes
Fridge/oven size not adequate for a party of 8 staying for a week self catering.

Enjoyable stay
Spacious apartment, well equipped, ideal for the white eagle pub , has its own car parking space.
Fabulous views .
Could benefit from tv in bedrooms and fans. Fly screen on roof terrace doors
Overall a lovely property possibly needs a touch of paint in places where work has been done.

Lovely accommodation in a picturesque spot
The nest was a stylish and lovely accommodation with beautiful furnishings and within walking distance of a secluded beach…on arrival however upon opening the utensils drawer there was a really unpleasant smell . This was only resolved after thoroughly washing all the pans and the drawer… a dirty pan appeared to have been in there a while…..other than that the cleanliness was ok., but it spoiled our first impression of the place…..the pub below was busy and vibrant , a little noisy but we expected that.

Recommended
The apartment is large & comfortable. Very clean & well equipped. We had an issue operating the heating but a call to Anglesey Lettings very quickly resolved the issue & they offered to attend if it did not. Far better caretaker service than their competitors in Rhoscolyn.
Only minor issues were a smell of damp in one bathroom, the shower attachment in one bathroom was not functioning correctly and it would be a benefit if the shower hose were attached to the wall in the second bathroom. Also the bedroom and bathroom windows were difficult to open.
Overall a fabulous stay in a wonderful position with an excellent restaurant downstairs. We shall definitely return.

Great apartment with fab views. Very comfortable. Nice having the pub / restaurant just downstairs
Had a lovely stay in the apartment for my birthday. Great views out to sea. Apartment is very spacious with good facilities. Sofas and beds comfortable. Used the terrace briefly when sun did come out. Imagine it's very nice in summer as a little sun trap.Kitchen well laid out with nice bench for lunch / breakfast. Handy being able to pop downstairs for a drink / food. Felt like being in a hotel, in that you didn't have to head out for dinner in bad weather, but better as have much more space if you want to have a ngiht in. Ate downstairs two nights and food and service very good. Handy having the designated parking. Great location for some walks along the coastal path.

Relaxing stay
A few things to note that we believe need to be addressed.
The dishwasher door is faulty, will not stay down unless held, which makes it really difficult and awkward to load and unload.
The small fridge has no shelf in the door so cannot store milk or juice cartons.
The biggest issue is 2nd bathroom only has a hand shower, so there is only one useable shower for a 4 bed property, which is not enough ( and that shower cubicle is vey small and clumsy to use). Luckily there were only 4 of us so we could share but had there been more people, it would definitely be a big problem.

Really good stay, but could have been excellent with a few tweaks
Really well kitted out flat, amazing location, great pub underneath, and stunning views.
Stayed here last year as well, but felt the flat had a few more minor niggles this time. Kickboard under kitchen units kept falling down, walls showing sign off wear and tear, and fridge door trays were either broken or missing. Balcony/terrace area is a welcome addition, but not in great condition
Biggest issue was the same as last year - when’s it’s hot, the flat is really hard to cool down. Lots of windows screwed shut - not sure if this because it’s old or H&S concerns, but really effects comfort. A couple of ceiling fans could fix this really easily
Storage is lacking throughout, but not really an issue
Non of this would put us off returning, but would def bring a fan next time.

Excellent family holiday
We stayed at The Nest at The White Eagle in Anglesey with two families (five kids between us) and had such a fantastic time. From the moment we booked, we were impressed by the brilliant digital welcome magazine – it gave us all the information we needed in one place, which made planning so easy.
The apartment itself was spacious, comfortable, and perfectly set up for families, with everything we could possibly need. The kids had plenty of room to play and the adults could relax. The outside space is limited in the apartment but lots of garden in the pub. There is a flight of stairs up and you can't always park outside the entrance but we did always find parking in the pub carpark.
The white eagle is the pub below – such a lovely spot with a welcoming atmosphere and great food. It was bank holiday weekend so it was buzzing with live music and people milling around and we embraced the atmosphere! .. Some nights you could hear the pub noise till 10pm ish but our kids slept through it no problem.
The beach is a walk or a short drive down a single track road but it's a lovely beach with kid friendly shallow water..
All in all, a wonderful stay that worked brilliantly for both kids and adults – we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and would love to return!

Great Eagle
The Nest at the White Eagle is a fabulous place to stay on Anglesey with a family group. It was spotlessly clean and kitted out with good quality furnishings. The beds were superbly comfortable with really lovely high spec bedding. I normally take my own pillow with me when I travel, as I never find pillows in hotels and self catering accommodation suit me but the ones here were fab - my own pillow went back into the boot of my car. There is more cutlery and crockery than I have ever known to be provided in a self catering property where, quite often, you are rooting round to find enough knives or side plates or something else for all the guests that are staying. Everything had been thought of in the kitchen.
The location is amazing with a super view of the coast from the front of the property and you are perfectly placed at Rhoscolyn for coastal walks and beaches if you want them. The Eagle pub below will also suit all your needs for food and drink and the MOST wonderful and kind staff who help to make your stay so enjoyable.
I would happily return here anytime and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Great for a short break
The White Eagle is is a lovely position - just a short 10 minute walk to the excellent beach at Rhoscolyn. The pub is very popular and we enjoyed a nice meal there too. Whilst busy, the pub noise does not affect the apartment which is clean and deceptively spacious.
The kitchen is reasonably well equipped although we had to replace our kettle half way through our four day break. Angelesey lettings proved a replacement very promptly and efficiently.
The one draw back of the apartment was that the outside patio area is well presented on the promotional website but the reality is this is not really useable. There is a huge noisy extractor fan pipe from the pub that dominates the patio and makes sitting in this area not really appropriate. With the doors shut the fan can not be heard inside. However the lack of outdoor space I think in this context makes the property best suited to a short getaway rather than a weeks stay which I suspect is the target market. On this basis we would positively recommend the apartment. The pub is a little isolated but there is easy access to the rest of the island within 10 minutes drive.

The Nest
We’ve just had a fantastic week at The Nest with our two grown up children and their partners plus two dogs. From the start the apartment felt spacious and clean so we all fell in love with it. We dined in on five evenings and the large kitchen and dining area were great for that.
The white eagle itself is a very nice pub and restaurant serving excellent food and drink and all the staff there were really really friendly and helpful.
However, there were a few really annoying problems with the apartment which were totally unnecessary and should have been addressed by the owner. None of the toilet seats fitted correctly and were loosely fitted, the shower over the bath did not have a bracket so we had to hold the head whilst showering, so unnecessary. There were no wardrobes whatsoever and no drawers in the bedrooms so we basically forced to lived out of our suitcases. I think this storage problem is down to the unusual layout of the apartment with a very large lounge and a very large kitchen/ diner but small bedrooms.

Lovely
Lovely spacious property in beautiful, quiet location. The property is nicely presented with lots of amenities. Parking is easy and having the pub so close is great. The food at the White Eagle never disappoints. The walk to the beach is lovely and close and there are several walks from the property with keen doggies. Our only issues with the property were the windows and Juliet balcony glass screen that was salty and obscured the stunning views. Definitely hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Our second issue was the side terrace which in the photos suggest a lovely inviting area to sit with pots of plants. Unfortunately on our visit the pots contained dead plants and were full of water. The terrace needed a jet wash to remove green algae. The area is also noisy when two large fans from the pub are operating. Our final issue was the fridge which was small with broken door shelves which meant there was nowhere to stand milk which then leaked. With the windows/screens cleaned and the terrace improved this property would be 10/10,
