“The worked out very well for us. Directly on the snow trail. Very nice staff/owner. We arrived before normal check in hours and hit the trails right away. Because we didn't actually go to room until after 9pm, there was a remote "check in" option that works well. I wouldn't recommend for vehicles pulling long 16ft or bigger trailers, as parking is very tight. But for a little 10 ft trailer, it was wonderful 👍”

“Stew met us outside and welcomed us to Northwoods Motel. He checked us in and told us about the features of the motel. Our room was very clean and comfortable. It was quiet and comfortable and close to town. We had a couple non-motel related issues and Stew gave good advice and offered to help in any way he could. I would easily stay here again when in Hayward!”

“Our second floor room was recently remodeled, with two, firm queen bed mattresses and more comfortable linens that I usually expect from a Super 8. The bed frames were the platform style that you cannot loose items underneath, which is always nice. The flooring was new and clean, and the cabinets had nooks instead of cupboards --again, storage I really like because it makes sense and I won't leave items behind because I forget to look in a cabinet. “This is my favorite place to stay in the Rice Lake area. It is a charming lodge tucked away in a quiet spot right on the lake. Expect beautiful vistas year round. Each room is designed uniquely, several are pet friendly. Each has a view of and access to the lake. The staff/owners are friendly and accommodating. There are complementary non-motorized water activities in the summer and nightly campfires. Breakfast is fruit and a locally baked scone. There is nothing hotel-chain about this place. ”

“Staff was great. Clean room. Apparently it was a hockey weekend and kids were running up and down the stairs, hallways up above the rooms in a very difficult to relax. That was my agenda with my daughter was to relax. My daughter is autistic and I was way too stimulating for her. No, I didn’t stipulate that she was autistic. Didn’t know I had to and I shouldn’t have to but that to no one quiet times are 30 below zero kids are in the pool running out the door, half naked and in and out. ”
