This was, unfortunately, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had at a Marriott. I specifically chose Marriott because they typically uphold high standards and consistently provide a great experience. This stay was the complete opposite.
When I arrived, the property felt like an active construction zone. There was construction happening on our floor, with noticeable debris and an overall unclean atmosphere. It did not feel welcoming or properly maintained.
My room’s TV did not work for two full days before it was finally repaired. One friend staying across the hall had her toilet overflow, and it could not be fixed during her stay — she was told to use a restroom on the first floor even though we were on the second. Another friend on the third floor discovered mold in her room and had to leave the hotel entirely. A fourth friend also wanted to leave due to a strong, unpleasant smell in her room.
My three friends who booked directly through Marriott were able to relocate to another Marriott property. Unfortunately, because I booked through Expedia, I was not given the same flexibility and felt stuck in unacceptable conditions.
This experience was extremely disappointing and far below the standards I associate with Marriott. Cleanliness, maintenance, and guest comfort should never fall this short.
