Viaggio con la famiglia

We stayed in room 901 on Tuesday, January 6th. My 10-year-old son had an early morning pre-surgery appointment at Texas Children’s Hospital the next day, so we had driven in late the night before Because we live close to 3 hours away. At 7:00 AM we were forced out of bed by a loud alarm giving instructions to evacuate to the nearest staircase due to a fire. I quickly woke my son, got him dressed, and we walked down 9 flights of stairs to a side alley. In the rush, I scraped my arm on the stairwell and it was bleeding. We spoke with other guests who were also confused and said that it happened to them just 4 weeks prior when they stayed at that location. When we made our way to the lobby, people were acting normal. Several guests mentioned they had heard the evacuation instructions. I asked the front desk if there was a fire and was told it was a test alarm and that “it wasn’t supposed to say that.” Before evacuating, we had to use the restroom in our room and found the bathroom floor full of standing water. Clothes and towels I had placed on the floor were soaked, and the water splashed as we stepped through it. I told the manager and she said housekeeping was being sent, but no one came. I laid towels down so we could walk and took photos to show the manager later. The bathroom ceiling made it clear this wasn’t the first time there had been a leak. The manager offered 20,000 points and told me it would cover a night stay. It cost at least 55,000 points for a night at Hilton.
