I have to begin by saying that the host was communicative and has attempted to set up a nice property. But despite what he may have done on the inside, this home is in a very dangerous and dirty neighborhood. The deadbolt on the door wasn’t properly installed with damage to the frame which made it seem the door had already been kicked in. At about 12:30 AM we heard 6 gun shots towards the back of the house and ended up calling the police. They arrived to provide safely help us pack up our belongings and leave the property. If you look up the “heat crime map” for the neighborhood, you will see that murders, assaults, break ins, robberies are a daily part of this neighborhood. Please ask the host for the exact cross streets before making the booking so that you can make a decision about staying here or not. Hosts usually don’t provide you with the exact address beforehand for security purposes and out of respect I won’t list it here either - but be sure to ask host for the exact closest intersection so you can do your due diligence.
