“We very much enjoyed our stay at The Mill at Waunakee. It is a self check in hotel, so we did not deal with any staff. Ample onsite parking available. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was great! There is a coffee shop downstairs. We had two excellent breakfast experiences there. The location is terrific, walking distance to the downtown restaurants and shops. We had a very nice time!”

“The property is under renovation. There were a few items missed by the cleaning staff and painting crew. Apples were the only fresh fruit at breakfast. I would have liked some bananas. Eggs were the only hot item in chaffing dishes. I guess I was spoiled by the Springfield IL location last year. There was quite a spread for breakfast compared to this property.”

“The only thing bad was. The fan on AC only worked on low. The freezer on the refrigerator was caked with frost. Other than that it was a very nice place. We didn’t eat breakfast because it cost much extra.”

“Breakfast was subpar — several options, but looked very unappetizing. The room was a disaster. We walked in and it stunk of mildew & cat urine. It was awful! The sheets had stains, towels had stains, hair in the shower, and pubic hair on the toilet tank. Just disgusted. We were doing to ask for a different room, but given the state of the rest of the hotel, we assumed they would all have the same issue & we had plans to be out and about the city. I’d definitely stay somewhere else next time...

“The staff was friendly and the hotel quiet and clean. It didn't have an elevator however, which caught me off guard. I don't need a handicap room, but my knees do not like stairs. Only negative comment/caution.”

“Unfortunately I arrived the afternoon that the hotel was doing major maintenance and construction. During the evening hours I stepped out of my room and the entire second floor hallway was overwhelmed with a burning smell (downstairs construction workers were cutting slab in the dining area). It gave me a migraine :( Not the way I wanted my stay to be. However, the front desk people were very nice and tried to change me to the third floor, but they were booked. If you can, contact the property...
