We enjoyed our stay at La Casa del Alux in February and would stay there again. It was a very positive, though not perfect, apartment in a quiet part of the town on a lagoon.
We liked the cleanliness of the apartment, the functional air conditioner, the very pleasant housecleaner Bety, the location, and the nice balcony with a hammock. The apartment is three blocks from the beach and two blocks away from Bilu, the best breakfast/brunch restaurant we found on the island. It was an easy 10 minute walk to the central part of the town. In general, La Casa was a relaxing place from which to enjoy the island.
The primary concern we had with La Casa del Alux is that in the week leading up to our stay the apartment complex was listed as "Permanently Closed" by Google. This is still the case. We panicked and tried to reach the host, but they did not answer the phone or respond to Whatsapp i
A thing to note: the apartment we rented had a kitchenette of sorts but that did not include a range or oven, limiting options for preparing food. This was clearly stated on the description, but I just overlooked this point. We weren't there long enough for this to become a major issue.
