1) It sucked that the shower had no hot water. 2) Very inconvenient that the phone was broken. 3) The bar is located in the lobby which made it very loud and was disturbing me all the way into my room. Make sure you request a ROOM NOT FACING THE LOBBY.

Celebrated my man 44th bday. We had the junior suite with river view and it was awesome! But….I didn’t like that the internet on our tv’s didn’t work. We couldn’t connect our apps or play our music. Staff ain’t care they just said rooms in the building need work done on the internet. No comp was given, no money taken off total we paid nothing…The bathroom walls near shower needs updating as well. Parking was $16/day but we were able to park our rental on the street. Housekeeping was awesome they changed our bedding and restocked our coffee daily. The area was quiet and beautiful. Will definitely stay again in the Junior Suite for sure!

This property is totally unbecoming a "Merriott" property. The mattresses were six inches at best and was hard as a brick. The beds felt like laying on concrete. Although we requested that our room be serviced, they totally ignored our request and didn't even replace the towels. We had to request clean towels. The front desk staff member was totally unconcerned and did not care that our room was not serviced. I will never stay at this site again.

On the first day at the hotel we wanted dinner and the bar tender was rude.It was getting close to the end of the kitchens shift and demanded we place our order immediately. He said they will not cook food after 10 I’m sorry. When we got to our room to sleep we had hair in our bed so we had to call the front desk to have them bring us new sheets. Our room floor was dirty like it hadn’t been swept. On our second day their breakfast took forever as the restaurant in the hotel is short staffed. Tables weren’t being bused, customers weren’t being waited on when they sat down therefore they walked out. My Mom ordered pancakes and they came out under cooked. We waited 2 hours for them to bring her new pancakes. Our beds were tiny. We booked 2 Queen beds however our beds felt like Full size.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel updates, my room updates and the cleanliness. Everything worked as should, the renovation work wasn't sloppy like some other hotel Reno's. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I would happily stay here again.

We stayed one night. Had to park on the street and was charged $32 for two nights of parking as well as another charge just over $2 for something when we made no purchases.

We prepaid for a king river view room. Upon arrival we were put in a double, no view. We were moved to a king, no view. I called Marriott and contacted Expedia. Shower door trapped guest in shower. Housekeeping accessed room (not to clean). Sun am housekeeping tried to key in room repeatedly. Room was never serviced. I am frustrated with Marriott and Expedia

Nice room and comfy beds but a bit noisy from the bar downstairs. We were on the third floor. My husband couldn’t sleep with all the sounds coming from downstairs.

My husband and I travel a lot throughout Florida and due to the outstanding service at Southbank, we have made this hotel our hub. The bar/restaurant is outstanding thanks to the service provided by Jewel (we seek her out), Dylan, Michael, Kenny, and Zack. Mr. Kameron is a joy to have serve us in the morning for early breakfast. Joelle at the front desk is outstanding, always providing above and beyond service. We know we are in great hands when we see Ms. Joelle and Ms. Valerie leading the front desk. We will continue to make this hotel our hub when traveling thanks to the service provided by this team. The hotel is just off the river walk so the surroundings are beautiful. Thank you to the Southbank team for always making our stays wonderful.

Check-in was very easy, welcoming and accomodating for our family of 4s needs. Room very clean, stocked with coffee, nice view of pool and cute balcony with chairs. Mini fridge, but suprisingly no microwave. Iron, iron board, smart TV. Very soft mattress, not my preference but to each its own. My main bedding issue was all the lumpy pillows which meant the pillows had been washed. Extremely uncomfortable!!! Note expedia says self-parking is $12/night but its actually $16/night. After long day out, it was nice hotel restaurant and bar was still open till 11pm. ONLY downfall was that we waited over an hour for our food order. NCAA mens final four was on TVs there at bar to keep us occupied, but still, we was exhausted so the hour wait just rubbed us the wrong way. Management was very visible which was nice. Very professional approach. Gave refund for 1 item since they didn't have dressing that i ordered hour ago when order was originally placed. Riverwalk the next morning was close by and very beautiful. Overall Southbank is a great hotel, welcoming and caring staff, pleasant room, great location that's close by stadium. Would stay there again, but new pillows are a must!

Check-in was quite slow w/ little to no line in front of us. The website clearly marked “Self parking, uncovered lot $12.00.” But upon checking in they informed it was $16 for us to park our own car in a poorly lit, poorly maintained parking lot behind the hotel. As a guest of this hotel one would think they would have a parking space for which you could park a car….FOR FREE. This is not downtown in a high rise parking garage. When we complained the manager said the website wasn’t updated and the $12 rate was not honored!! This hotel is very basic. Coming in after a long drive it was 8:00 and instead of venturing out we decide to grab a drink and a simple burger at the hotel bar. The bartenders were pleasant and fixed a nice old fashioned but we waited for an hour to get a simple burger (supposed to be cooked medium, no onions and cheddar but came charred and well,well-done with pepper jack and onions)!! AN HOUR for a burger and we were one of five people who ordered food! The manager comp’d us the food which was okay, but we were just starving and we just wanted food, as it was if was so charred and barely edible. The lobby furniture was worn out and needed replace but the decor was nice. Our room appeared clean and housekeeping did a nice job. The shower on our first morning was just warm not hot which was not great. The second morning for some reason was better. This hotel is not near too many eating places or any shopping. We won’t be staying at this franchised “Marriott

The room was nicely appointed and clean. The check in process seemed slow with only one person at the desk and a line waiting. Breakfast was ok, it’s a buffet. The wait staff was not particularly attentive.
