“De Vere Tortworth Court is a beautiful and unique mansion, completely surrounded by nature, built over 170 years ago. We came to visit the Cotswolds, and this accommodation worked out quite well (it is a 40 mins-1h drive from the main villages). Things I loved: All the shared areas are well kept and organized, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good as well as the bistro and the cocktail bar in the library room. “This hotel is in dire need of repair. Our stay was not as advertised. The bedside lights were just bare (very bright!) bulb’s with no lampshades and this was not by design. We were visiting with a very large group and I visited other rooms, no other room has bare glaringly bright bulbs at sides of the beds. The bath had black mold round it. The mirrors were stained and marked. The hotel is next to a busy road that feeds the motorway, and the sound of the traffic was very loud in our room because...

“We had a good stay at the Sloop Inn. Lovely friendly staff. The best breakfast. The property is a little dated, and the bed isn't the most comfortable, but it was all good for a one-night stay. Would recommend.”

“Strikingly looking hotel. Unfortunately on entering reception, we were greeted with a dirty carpet, which carries on into the bar area with lots of stains. Our room was up 2 flights of stairs, which I wasn't aware of when I booked. Therefore, in this heatwave, the room was an oven. There was a desk fan - 'thank goodness'. Pleased with the room, the layout and amenities. Curtains need seeing to, useless and need blackouts! All the staff were pleasant and hard working. Did not expect a buffet...

“Got a really good price on a room with a gym on site. There was decent parking available and I got parked up near the entrance. I had a room on the ground floor which was close to the gym as well as the entrance. The room was pretty standard but what was required for me. I got shown to the gym which had new equipment and had plenty to choose from. I was then told it was an extra £5 to use it which would have been nice to know as part of booking the stay. I had a great workout at the gym then...

“A Characterful Coaching Inn set in lovely countryside - staff on the reception were very good, Bar and waiting staff, young but pretty good. The 2 steak dishes we had were also pretty good. We'd certainly stay here again. The Cosy Double Room we had just for 1 night was very clean and in excellent condition.”
