“I booked Kurunduketiya as a birthday present for my partners 30th and some nice accommodation to finish our holiday at. However due to poor administrational errors, the resort didn’t have the correct details of our booking which we had paid for in full. It wasn’t until I reached out with questions about the booking 5 days prior that they contacted me to tell me that they had double booked and that we had to cut our stay short one night. They did offer up accomodation at another resort, however...

“Natscha and her assistant Ajit run this wonderful small guesthouse. If you are looking for an authentic, local experience then stay here. But, it is not that easy to get to, The road to the bungalow is largely unpaved and steep but, for us, that was all part of the attraction. The surroundings are beautiful - lush green jungle, beautiful rice paddies, local temples etc. But, if you don't have your own vehicle then it is not possible to get out at night. The cuisine is local and very good....

“We stayed in the hotel because of Sinharaja rain forest. Location is good, close to city but quiet for sleep. Hotel is very wear off and needs proper cleaning of everything. Owner is nice and helpful is you need to manage something.”

“Wonderful! The only thing in the way of this being total paradise was the sound from the quarry in the opposite hill, which was always there during daylight hours, but in the distance. Very secluded hilltop location, in well-kept grounds. Far-reaching views on all sides of forests and hills. Saw some amazing sunsets, exotic birds, cute chipmunks and little geckos. Very friendly and obliging staff always available. Personal butler even arranged a tuk-tuk and accompanied us into the nearest city,...
