Ranch a Kendal

“It was a very tired hotel. Needs a birthday big time. Bed was uncomfortable and pillows were too soft. There was yucky smell as you walked in which wasn’t very welcoming. Bathroom size was good and shower was also good. It was too hot and we worked out that was probably because of the indoor pool connected to the hotel. We had the window open all night and also a fan on and it was still too hot. Not worth what we paid.”

“The rooms were fine-we’d stay there again. The bathroom fan was running in the wrong direction-pulling air in.”

“The property was was pretty much as expected, The room was clean and big. The issue we had was there did not seem to be sufficent sound deading between the rooms, as we could hear voices from other rooms. Could not hear what they were saying, but could near the noise. Luckily they went to bed about the same time we did and did not wake up before we did, but it not what we wanted or expected. It was in a very isolated location. That was not a problem for us, but something to be aware of. ...

“I chose a more budget room, so my view wasnt very nice and overlooked by other rooms (the garden is lovely so maybe consider upgrading to a garden view). However, the room was large, well maintained and I didnt notice any significant cleanliness issues. Bathroom had plenty of surface space for toiletries. The car park can get quite full if an event is on. Food and drinks I thought a little pricey (large glass of wine and a burger £37). Pool was nice and lots of gym equipment.”

“We used the Hare & hounds as a stopover on our way home but will give serious consideration to returning to explore the Lakes from there”
