Southern Delight

The property was just as pictured, very comfortable, with an abundance of space for a family of 8-12. It's a 10-minute walk to the beach (15 with little ones) and two minutes from the pool. The A/C was great. No problems with the proximity to the golf course. We did spot a couple gators in the nearby ponds, so keep your littles and dogs close and your eyes open. Once the sun goes down, it is dark, very dark. That isn't an issue, but just FYI. The closest grocery store is a 15-minute drive away and reflects island prices. Great area over all.

We have been visiting Kiawah once or twice a year for more than 10 years.With one exception, the property rented met or exceeded our expectations. This year’s stay at 14 Ocean Green was another exception.This property is simply not what it is advertised to be, and overpriced. Although it is advertised as four bedroom, the common area is extremely tight and does not comfortably accommodate that number. In addition, the driveway is shared with the neighboring homes and cannot accommodate the associated automobiles. One of the things we always enjoy at Kiawah is sitting on the deck overlooking the golf course or eating on the deck. Although the pictures associated with the listing show a table and chairs, the deck furniture of the house insisted of a metal table with significant rust and one chair, a major disappointment. We also attempted to use the grill and just before we finished grilling, it ran out of gas. The small breakfast table shown in the picture had been replaced with a l950’s soda shop table and chairs that were very uncomfortable and looked out of place. We were there during hurricane Helene which passed through in one night but the deck, front porch and driveway were littered with debris. Unlike other places we had stayed, no one ever came to blow the debris off. There were several other minor things including the lack of hot water in the kitchen and a dishwasher that did not clean dishes well, that, in total, made this house a great disappointment.

We really enjoyed the property and location. Some of the furniture was tired and the dryer quit working after 5 days but we were able to get through it. We had rented chairs but upon arrival found chairs in the garage. I would suggest letting renters know if there are chairs or not so they don't have to rent unnecessarily. Great trip with grandkids and kids. Would definitely do it again.

Nice spot

Excellent location and house. Well appointed and nice furnishings. First floor has all you need - so nice to have a bathroom for every bedroom. Short walk to beach. And we love this ocean green street. Could use a screen porch - lots of debris coming on to deck but it was windy. Basement is cool but a bit musty. We would stay here again for sure.

Gorgeous House with Game Room

Great Kiawah House

Fun stay

Great property on Turtle Point golf course. About a 12 minute walk to the beach and roughly 15 minutes from the front gate. We really enjoyed having a grill for burgers on the patio, the open kitchen/living room, and pool table downstairs. I will note that the master shower did not drain properly so we couldn't run both shower heads in case the shower flooded. Overall, excellent property.

The property in Kiawa

The house was located in a beautiful place, but needs a few items to be take care: 1)refrigerator was not working properly, needs a new one 2)outside on the balcony was not clean 3)bathtub was not in good conditions to use 3)better supplies needs to be in place for cooking and entretainment in a rental house 4) house needs to be more friendly, when receiving people to stay on vacation, very disappointed. The house needs to be in better conditions. People from the management try to help us, but the house need an updated in order to receive new guests. JC

Great home for family and pets

Beautiful home and my family enjoyed staying at this property. Only a few updates needed. Kitchen needed hot pads, new can opener and the frig needs work on ice maker and crisper drawer. One bedroom could use a new mattress. Would still stay here again.

Nice, but....

The home was just as pictured and only a 10 minute walk to the beach, as advertised. So we enjoyed the use of the house and had a wonderful time at the beach and riding bikes around the island. However, we had a few problems. First, many of the dishes were dirty in the cupboards (virtually all of the glasses), there was hair in two of the showers and on the beds, and the air conditioning system was on some sort of weird timer that would lower the temp to 66-70 degrees at random times throughout the day so no matter how many times we adjusted the temp, it would become an icebox several hours later. (Oh and the vents are directly over the beds so you feel every frigid degree when it drops...I closed the vent over the bed in the MB and still woke up cold). The management team sent a crew out to clean the house (and dishes) again and someone came to adjust the thermometer (it still went went down to freezing at night even after he came), but the damage had already been done. We had already used a few of the dishes before we realized they were dirty....during a pandemic! We can only pray the previous guests did not have Covid. In addition, there were no instructions on how to use the lock box when we arrived (you had to hold one button while you pushed up on another while you punched in the code or something) and there was an additional lockbox on the door as well (for real estate agents), further confusing everything. So we had to wait outside on the porch for at least a half an hour until they could contact someone who knew how to use the lock (we arrived on a Sunday when the Sweetgrass office was closed). Simple instructions on the door or in the email they sent with the code would have saved us some heartache. Finally, if you tell people the beach is a 10- minute walk, it would be nice if you had a little map or instructions or something on how to get there (turn left, go to the end of the street, find the path through the trees in between two houses, go over the bridge, turn left again, then you’ll see a sign that says “beach” and just follow the signs from there.). But we had to call the Sweetgrass office for directions and then had to ask a resident after we crossed over the little bridge....it is NOT self explanatory, but once you do it once or twice, it’s easy. So great house, just a few details that were overlooked that could have made this stay perfect.

Don't use sweetgrass properties

2 weeks before our stay I received an email stating that the 5 bedroom house I had reserved 10 months ago was now a 4 bedroom house and there was nothing I could do about it. They didn't offer any refund or discount for changing from a 5 to a 4 br. They removed the twin beds and replaced them with a sleeper sofa. Then two days before we arrived I received another email that stated they wanted to show the property while we were there. I explained that we were running the kiawah marathon and really didn't want to be concerned with someone looking at the property while we were there. They continued to send me emails and texts asking when would be a good time. I finally gave in and agreed to a time. I will not rent from sweetgrass properties again.

The perfect location for a weekend in Kiawah!

We could not have asked for a better property during our trip to Kiawah. Just a quick walk/bike ride from the beach, the home was clean and spacious. The kitchen was wonderful and all guests enjoyed their own en suite bathrooms. Thank you to 14 ocean green drive for a fantastic vacation!

Great :Location and Setting

The house was very roomy, much larger than anticipated. Lots of common areas to relax and enjoy ourselves. The accoutrements were rather skimpy however; only 1/2 roll of paper towels, 1 pkg of dishwasher soap, 1 pkg of laundry soap, NO extra trash bags, NO coffee filters. My sisters stayed in a house next door that had all of those items and more. Plus their home came with a $250 credit for either bike or beach chair rental. Should have read the fine print more closely. Having said all that, the home was lovely and very relaxing. Would return.

Great space for family weekend

Our family of nine, including grown children, spouses, and an infant, enjoyed staying here to attend a family wedding. Lovely setting and spacious house with a well appointed kitchen. Good private and gathering spaces and nice rec room with pool table. Very clean. Easy, pleasant walk to beach. It would have been nice to have more chairs for outdoors and alternatives to foam bed pillows.
