Clean

The good news is that it was clean, bed was comfortable, and furniture in decent shape. The little things that make stays more comfortable were missing. - no soap, two rolls of toilet paper for six nights, toaster barely working, living room door to the balcony didn't open, towels do thin that they ripped when drying myself, tc. On the other hand, we appreciated the beach towels, coolers, boogie boards.

Run don’t walk away from this place

Upon entering the complex the front desk was closed for the Easter long weekend so we could only rely on the instruction we received by email. (Which turned out to be completely inaccurate.) We parked in visitor parking because another vehicle was parked in "our" parking spot, several days later when the office was open the staff gave us a parking pass and said that we could park anywhere. Upon entering the unit we found garbage on the kitchen counter, a hamper full of dirty towels, used paper towels on the toilet tank and a mixture of dirt and sand covering the floors. We immediately sent an email to the contact person listed in the instructions advising them that it appeared our room had not been cleaned. We washed a load of towels and sheets to have a clean place to sleep and shower and headed to the pool. The pool code in the email instructions were wrong and we were unable to gain access to the pool. Other residents let us in to the pool and updated us with the code for future access. Once we got settled, cleaned the unit and washed our own towels and linens it was an ok place to stay. On the second day 10 minutes before 4pm (check-in time) a cleaning women who spoke no English walked in while we were inside. She was surprised to see us in the unit. We tried to ask her to clean the unit but communication was a problem so she left. The A/C is a joke it's old and inadequate and appears to be from the 80's and built into the unit. There were two oscillating fans for use but one was broken and the other is on its last leg. Several pillows, the mattress cover, mattress and blankets have large stains. We probably wouldn't have seen these stains if we didn't have to clean our linens so heads up. There was also no extra toilet paper, no paper towels, no dish cloths. After several more emails to the contact person to no avail, we emailed Evolve the property management company. Several days into the trip a women who claimed to be the contact person showed up at our unit unannounced. She confirmed that she was the contact person and did not see our emails as she doesn't check it often. She tried to give us cash as compensation which we declined. Through Evolve and the owner we were credited the room cleaning fee. On the plus side, the couch, night stands, dresser, bed, microwave, stove and dishwasher have been updated from the photos. We have been to Maui several times and this was the worst place we have stayed in. We will not be coming back.

It was a place to stay. Things are outdated and old. Broken ironing board that's seen it day. Mop wasn't useful and wicker laundry basket broken. Need to fix the entry door, bottom seal doesn't work well enough to keep all the dirt from blowing in from under the door. White towels needs to be changed for another color, it doesn't clean well in the community laundry room. Sliding doors don't slide well and rusted. A lot of updating should be done in living room with wicker tables, better outlets for plug-in, update all lamps it's like a mismatch throughout. Print out wi-fi instructions instead of hand written on ripped paper. I'm sure the income for rentals are a lot. Fix and update this condo and shower and maybe it would get better.

Very clean and nice property. The guest experience was very friendly. Great hot tub and pool, plus lots of sea turtles swimming at the beach directly in front of the property. Sunsets

Stay

Overall the beginning of our stay was less than ideal- it appeared the dates had been confused and people had just checked out but we were not expected til the following day, so the property had not yet been cleaned. However, I will say that the next morning when we were able to get a hold of someone this was promptly fixed and the apartment was cleaned top to bottom very quickly, so thank you for that. Nice location close to beach.

Had to buy our own TP!

Hello First I want to say we enjoyed our stay at the condo. But on the first night there I saw a large clump of dry hair on the shower floor, we loved that there were extra pillows but I could not find any extra pillowcases and 1 pillow had a stain on it. The next day I found a chipped coffee cup and when we used the bbq later I did assume there was aluminum foil in the condo but no! And absolutely NOT 1 washcloth in the condo. A lot of bath towels and 2 hand towels but no washcloths. My biggest pet peeve is there was only 2 rolls of toilet paper! 1 on the hook and 1 in the closet. It was thin 1 ply and gone in 2 days, we were there 7. I’ve never had to buy my own toilet paper at any rental and was a little pissed over this and the no washcloth and no pillowcase’s!! I did send an email the 2 day we were there, to the contact listed and did not get a reply. The pool code had also been changed but not the note on the back of the condos front door! I hope you guys can get it a little more together for your future guests.

Condo is a bit dated as appliances. Refrigerator is loud and needs to be replaced. King bed would be better than Queen Bed. Great location, nice beach. We had a good time in this location

Kihei Maui Condo Rental

It was very nice and conveniently located to all of our activities. The view from the balcony was spectacular. I would recommend people to stay here if they are looking for a place to rent on Maui.

Failed to give back security deposit

We contacted the manager of the property many times and got many assurances that we'd get our deposit back, and in the end we had to go through Vrbo - who honestly weren't all that great to work with either. They needed all sorts of information and proofs of things from us that they should be able to verify on their end. And after giving them all they asked for they opened up a 'case'. Really not a great experience. That said, the property was nice and clean with a good location, and was well-stocked with kitchen appliances and a bunch of random things you'll need in Hawaii. So for that, I gave back one star.

Clean room, comfy bed, but lanai doors need attention

We used the lanai all the time but the sliding doors were in need of maintenance. We had to request some WD40 just to open the doors. Also, the glass was filthy and needed a good cleaning. Considering the whole place is under renovation, we probably wouldn’t have stayed here. However, the workers were good to be out of the way.

Good location and Size, but not clean!

When we got into this place it was still not clean after 3 days of being vacant. I was able to contact someone to come and do a quick clean and change of sheets, but it was not nearly as clean as I would want for myself and our 9 month old. Yes, the place is dated, but dated is not a problem if the place is well kept and clean; which this place was not. There were no extra linens around and the blanket on the bed did not get changed with the sheets.... The construction while we were there was also quite loud and did make use of the common areas less enjoyable. Would not recommend staying here until the place is thouroghly cleaned and all construction is complete.

NEVER STAY HERE! Worst vacation rental ever! If I could give "negative" star rating it would be -10

Never stay at this rental! Never use Evolve Vacation Rentals to book! This was the worst vacation stay we have ever had. It was a very dirty in addition to the construction going on in the building. To be fair, we were notified, months after booking, that there was renovations going on in the building. We were not able to cancel without losing our deposit. We were NOT notified of the workers that climbed onto the balcony and jack-hammered the tile on the second day of our stay! We had to ask them to get off the balcony and then we had to clean up the dirt. In addition, the workers attempted to climb back on the balcony the next morning! We asked them to get down and not come back. Since the contact person we were given had not checked in with us we attempted to contact her. The phone does not work in the unit, even for local calls. Fortunately the WIFI worked so we emailed her and Evolve. She arrived the next day where were showed her our concerns. There were grimy splashes and dirt everywhere. We couldn’t walk on the floor barefooted without getting our feet dirty. There are brown stains on the couch and chair. There is a layer of visible dust on all the lamps and there are light switches that don’t do anything. When we arrived, the living room patio door was not locked. Also, we had to use bathroom towels in the kitchen as there are no kitchen wash cloths or towels. We tried to sweep the floor but the duster mop had broken handle. We were not even given the code for the pool area. The contact person told us that we should be happy with the room as it was because other people were paying more for rooms just like this one. What an insult! She did promise to have the cleaners come back and re-clean the unit but they never arrived. We emailed the contact person and Evolve Vacation Rentals again with no response. The day we checked out of the unit we finally got a call from Evolve asking about our concerns. We requested a refund and they were not very receptive at all. After weeks of back and forth emails they offered a measly $300 refund. In the end half was refunded to our VISA and they insisted that they would send the remainder through a bank-to-bank transfer. They did not account for fees charged by the banks and we didn't even receive the full refund!! We are totally disgusted with our treatment by Evolve Vacation Rentals and the condo owner and her contact person in Maui. We will never book a vacation rental through them again!!

Clean with good location, bit outdated and lacking a few things

Condo was clean and had a good location. The construction around the condo was sometimes hard to handle but didn’t ruin the stay. Some parts of the condo quite outdated. Only had one blanket in the entire place. Did enjoy using the beach chairs and coolers provided

Nice property that has not been maintained well.

Beautiful view from lanai balcony . Needs some newer appliances .bed linens are thread bare.toaster and dishwasher barely work .screens to balcony need replacing or repaired.i could go on but it’s is a nice unit that needs better cleaning and maintenance People at front desk we’re friendly and helpful.nice pool and grounds.
